If the trucking companies would simply pay their truckers, ESPECIALLY the ones who own their own sleeper cabs, a decent wage, the truck drivers would not feel the urge to try to push past the 8-10 hour federal mandated limit on hours per day. And with crude at prices not seen since 2014, the problem is only going to get worse.
I don't think you understand how greed works. Sarcasm: If CEO's etc. were well paid, the Enron scandal would have never happened. Neither would the Madoff scandal. Those guys were simply underpaid.
Your information is dated. We have electronic logs limiting how long we can drive to generally 11 hours per day, with a total of 70 hours on duty over a 8 day period. Those truckers who have their own rigs can make more than many doctors and attorneys because of post Covid lockdown pent up demand exceeding supply chain capacity resulting in massive increases in freight rates. Edit: Increasing fuel prices do not hurt owners because of an indexed fuel surcharge.
It was brilliant. Crazy thing is they made a near shot for shot remake, officially supported by the studio, in Colombia named Metastases. I still have to watch it. I initially thought US breaking Bad was a clone of Metastases but no, remade for South American audience.
