You are moving the conversation outside what will solve my problem. Here I want to find insights on my subconscious mind. My question was : why would one stop following one system of trading when one sees a very healthy PnL? why not even take a break, prepare again instead of simply taking any trade out there, that is not in the prepared list? why does one stop doing what works : aka prepare, get trade list, and take only trades within the list.
It is OK for you to say "I don't know". The basic attitude of anybody who has done some serious maths Also, I have quiet a lot of material here to bring me closer to the solution.
Because it doesn't work. But you chose to assign the loser trades to be not part of the system. You don't know what you will do if your system doesn't work. So you delay this reality in any way you can. Psychology is chosen as a tool for that purpose. The solution is in fact to fix the system or find one that works. Although this seems unrealistic because you expect the abundance of others will fall into your lap.
But your lying, your not profitable, your method gives you a string of winners and you think that will continue, but sooner or later random chance will catch up with you and there goes all those profits. Personally, I'm 80% Method, 20% psychology. Your method is fine EJ, IF you have the Psychology which allows you to cut a loser early, which I doubt you do, not many have it. Hoping it'll turn your way, worrying if you exit it will turn your way. Greed and Fear are powerful emotions, and mostly drive the entire market.
I think I did not explain : the trades I took, in "gambling mode" were impulsive trades, aka not prepared at all, and none into my candidate list. In my candidate list, I expect losing trades - this is not a problem. My problem is the trades taken outside the prepared list of trades. My way of trading is : preparation ( 1 or 2 days) ==> trade on the decided day during prep. now as the results are good, I decide to NOT prepare BUT trade. Can you may be understand why people are alcoholics or drug addicts, even when they know they should not take alcohol or drugs?
I don't have a problem in my trading. I am not seeking help. Nor is my trading technique under discussion. I presents trades that will stand on their own. I don't care if people consider them to be good or bad.
Another set of insights. So his problem is cutting his losers. Mine is taking trades out of my list of prepared trades. Just show how ET is useful : getting some insights.
ExperiencedJoe : realise that ET has the ability to help traders improve. One first step is recognising that may be others see better the issues that you want to hide to yourself.
Errr no it doesn't, you present trades, then highlight people to the 1's that profited, while trying to ignore the 1's that lose then claim you flipped sides on them, ofcourse you did. Then you ramble on about how the market actively seeks your SL's to take your money, which is why you don't use them and then anyone that does is going to lose and gambling. News flash, it doesn't, it doesn't care about your micro lots or anyone elses, it merely does what it does.
People take drugs or drink because it feels good. You take trades because your system tells you they are winners. The fact they are not winners shows that the system doesn't work on the whole. If you have a winning system and you can't trade it then pay someone else to do it for you. But you won't do that because the reality of someone else finding the system doesn't work will destroy you.
