I currently own a C6 Corvette Z06, and that is likely the best car in its class at any price. So at least GM got that one right.

What happens if GM is significantly relieved of its health care liabilities by the next administration/congress?.

I for one was calling the "BIG THREE" cynically the "DIMINISHING TRIO" for years now. Having lived in Michigan on and off it was not hard to see the changes first hand.

It was in 1972 that i said to many others that the USA just matuered and it will be all down hill from there. Money was the "NEW" deal after the recession of 1973- 1974 which showed everyone that the shit can indeed still hit the fan. Fast forward to the mortgage sub-prime time of today and all the whiz kids out there find themselves in another awakening. Every generation finds out they are nothing but pawns for the KINGS and Queens pleasure. ( the broads will complain if you do not give them credit ). :)

So the world keeps turning and the sooner mere mortals understand they are just little pawns the better off they will be. (sorry marketsurfer and other crackerheads that think they are something they are not). Be all you can be, that sounds good, but in reality always remember this is all a game.

spersky, i got ya beat.........bought 10k GM at 9.25 as planned, went up so fast i took it at +6 bucks. might do it again but surely would not expect such a gift. American business is slow to change. GM and Ford are dinasours hoping the cloud cover lifts before they choke to death from their own emissions by selling gunboats in America. Americans are spoiled brats that will need new ways crammed down their throats to change.

    from the artical:

the MAIN FLAW od wall street, over and over... From that relatively simple model sprang models that predicted the behavior of massive pools of mortgages with the precision of Newtonian physics. By assuming the future would be like the past, lenders could structure loans with the most outlandish terms.

With statistical modeling, no longer was it necessary to collect and verify information about borrowers. Put everybody in the pool and everything would even out, statistically speaking. .....................
