I can see his defense now... I did nothing it was a hacker who had stolen my identity impersonating me...
'Swiss bank closes WikiLeaks account' "A bank in Switzerland has closed an account set up to gather funds for the legal defence of the whistleblowing website WikiLeaks and its founder, Julian Assange." http://english.aljazeera.net/news/europe/2010/12/201012617104208313.html on top of the PayPal account closure - noose is tightening
...and when evil forces developed DNS attacks, the gods created torrents... The cheapest well, basicly free and simplest way for them to throw the info up on the net in torrent form and there is no way any government or corporation can stop spreading information that way. Unless they close down or block pretty much all torrent sites.... Funny facts: If you are an US government employee without security clearence, you are forbidden to look up the info on Wikileaks, because you are not supposed to read classified information....
Perhaps he'd rather not get his hands <b>bloody</b> in exchange for a monetary reward. I sure wouldn't. After all, unless I'm mistaken, providing the master code equates to exposing countless undercover U.S. assets & informants to the world. Exposing these people would kill some of these people.
Yep, this is usually where true freedom seekers usually go. Once upon a time Britain would have done this to many of the people we call heroes. Nelson Mandela would be another good example. Anybody buy into the government line that they know things that we shouldn't know? I don't....(Except in a very few isolated circumstances.) It's your money that they are exploiting all over the world. Openess = true democracy. The U.S. government thugs do not have your best interests in mind. If they did, we would have term limits, tax reform, and a balanced budget amendment. These are the things the (brain dead) people of America should demand; they should not demand the support of a government who pretends to know what is best for us. In the area of government exposure, Assange is a hero; not a villain.
Interesting part in the link below swiss account was frozen on which ground the: " In a statement on its website, PostFinance said Mr Assange had "provided false information regarding his place of residence" during the account opening process. "(Mr) Assange entered Geneva as his domicile. Upon inspection, this information was found to be incorrect. " Do Swiss banks need anymore bad press to scare away foreign money ?? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-11929034
I just wonder if when the Iranians read through these leaks they might even be surprised how dovish the US is. In line after line of notes there's no grand plot to invade or take out their nuclear facilities. Perhaps their leaders will realize that the US wants peace, not war. If that proves to be the case it should be Assange and not Obama getting the Nobel Peace Award.
I thought this thread belonged to Politics, but it does have economic effects: By Charlie Gasparino "Last week, when news of the possible WikiLeak attack first broke, shares of Bank of America fell more than 10 percent. It recovered later in the week, first after I reported on the Fox Business Network that BofA didn't have an "indication" of a WikiLeaks attack, and then after Goldman Sachs made positive comments about the performance of the entire banking sector." http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-...eaks-wall-street-bombshell/?cid=hp:mainpromo4
