The more you folks salivate for anarchy the more the net is going to be restricted in the United States.

I suspect you are all apartment dwellers with no significant net worth and not much future otherwise you wouldn't be so eager to pull the system apart.

  7. has anyone else noticed the relentlessly dark and negative tactics used by Wikileaks opponents? harassment, tracking, cutting off funds, personal attacks, threats, etc., etc.

if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. these wikileaks opponents are thugs who obviously realize that no one prefers their agenda so they have to force it on people!

oh by the way, when is hillary going to be held responsible for her actions, amidst all this energy to bring people to justice?

  8. Unfortunately these leaks will give the feds a reason to spend a trillion dollars to implement laws and technology to take control over the internet and digital information under the facade of homeland security.

Speaking as a non-US citizen I don't think the US comes out of this too badly. As one writer in the FT notes, "You clearly see what the WikiLeakers never expected: A United States seriously and professionally trying to solve the most dangerous problems in a frighteningly complicated world, yet lacking the power to dictate solutions."

Anyway, I think this particular thread should be dedicated more to the financial market and economic implications of the releases rather than the political aspects.

Perhaps others can open up a new thread in the Politics and Religion section if they want to discuss the non trading aspects and rights and wrongs of WikiLeaks...
