"Why won't God heal amputees?"

  1. Same reason why you won't fix broken glasses.

  3. Blessings and mercy, you are so kind.

The truth is more powerful, and true freedom more freeing, than all your embellishments can express.

But your fatuous adornments are not required.

As Samuel Johnson reputedly said: "Your [posts are] both good and original. But the part that is good is not original, and the part that is original is not good."

Your prank (Hey, everyone! Jesus on a message board!) serves to deceive and depress more than enlighten.

A handful of incredibly gullible people will (amazingly) wonder if you are some kind of guru, while cynical people will overlook the value of whatever truth you present because it is folded into a huckster's robes.

In both cases your overall effect, in terms of detracting from the discussion and leading people astray, is worse than the typical troll's.

I think that sucks... and I think you're a bit of an asshole for continuing to play this little game.

  4. Clarify: Even if your insurance covers it, you won't "fix" it but replace it with a new one.

What would be the parallel for God? I don't want to go there.

  5. It was not originally a question. Rather, it was an accusation looking like a question. This prohibited an answer because no answer was sought.

I am choosing to see the accusation as a call for help, and am meeting resistance to help as the accusers are deciding which they prefer.

  6. It's only an accusation if God won't.

So why won't He? (I'm asking for real).

BTW, it was gblnking who asked the question, not Dan Rather.

Because God never heals anyone of anything. The purpose of the thread was to get people to think. Does prayer work? Often you will hear christians claim god answered their prayer and cured them frome some disease. The problem is these prayers are always coincidences or misdiagnosis.
To test our theory that answered prayers are always coincidences or misdiagnosis we had to find one disease or condition that could not possibility be a coincidence and see if we can find an instance of prayer working in that case.
Conclusion: We find that God never has healed an amputee so that proves that God really never heals anyone if the healing is put to an impartial test.

  8. :) Ok, he has.

It is only a matter of time before the "amputee" accepts his healing. The resistance is not on the side of God, but on the side of one who thinks he is not equal to God, but rather, "Gilbert + 1" as such. This leads to belief that God is destructible and therefore leads to a weak - "split" - mind. A weaken - split - mind can believe it can be hurt...or that something can "happen" to the Son of God. Amputation is "proof" of the destructibility of God. That is why it is an accusation, until healing is no more resisted.

If healing is no more resisted, a brother who is also the Son of God can help heal the mind that thinks God can be destroyed by the destruction of His Son. The brother who remembers the truth is able to help the one who has temporarily forgotten the truth, lending strength of mind until the weakened mind is equal in strength.

This can happen in an instant as the strong mind lifts the weakened mind up. In that instant, the weakened mind realizes the truth, that it is NOT a body. When identity is disassociated with a body, the body heals instantly, and remains healthy. This is because the body is merely an outpicturing of the mind. It is a picture of a state of mind. It is a responder. It does nothing of itself. It is nothing. If the mind is whole, the body will be whole. This is the basis of true healing.

Amputation is not any more "difficult" to heal than a common cold. It is persistent in this world because this world depends on "magic" to heal...and magic is not covered under most insurance policies...which is another form of magic. Those policies are sold by the god of this world. This is the "god" who will not heal the amputee. Healing is rebellion against such a god. Healing is proof that the laws of God apply even in a world that seeks to prove that God is destructible.

God has healed the amputee, and time is the distance between the giving and the receiving of the healing. Miracles collapse time and space, bringing the sick to the point of acceptance in an instant.

The amputee "hurt" himself before time and space ever were conceived of. Time and space are part of the "hurt" he hurt himself with. Those who think that God's "glasses" can just break need their glasses fixed. By this I mean it is their perceptions they have hurt. Nothing can "happen" to the Son of God but by his own will. If the Son of God "breaks", it is because he wished to break himself. "Perception" is part of the "hurt" he hurt himself with. If this is so, and I assure you it is, then he can heal himself by changing his perceptions to align with reality.

In this sense, all are "amputees" who are in bodies...separated from reality. All sickness is an effect of a belief in separation. If separation is not real, then there can be no real effects. Healing shows that there are no effects, and there must be no real "cause".

Healing is accomplished through joining of mind. It is the willingness to no longer pretend to be separate, able to have private thoughts of one's own. Healing is the glad reunion of what always is...one mind. The strong mind recognizes the Self in the weakened mind that thought is was separate. This enables a link to be made as separation fades away in the light of truth. The body can only respond to the state of mind.

God does not fix his "broken glasses" because His glasses are not broken. His "glasses" can only think they can be broken...shattered into a billion little separated pieces. As the pieces link with reality, they are healed.

God healed the mind of his Son by giving it an Answer for every question he truly asked. That Answer is the Holy Spirit...Created and given specifically to heal the mind of the Son who thinks he can be broken. This is the truth behind the "Holy Trinity"...why there is now "Three".

The Answer asks no questions, and only answers real questions. Only open ended questions are real. All others are self-made answers. The Answer abides in the mind of every Son who thinks he is separated. The Answer is the communication link between Father and Son while the Son sleeps. Ultimately, the "problem" is a lack of communication. The Answer is the "great communicator"...the mediator between the Father and the non-communicating part of the Son's mind. The Answer is the Voice for God for you, when you wish to communicate again. At first it is "still" and "small", until you tune in. Tune only to this channel and hear the Answer loud and clear.

The Answer is holding every gift of God for you, until you are ready to accept them. There is a gift for every "problem" you think you have...for behind every problem there is a miracle waiting to happen instead. There is no problem too great or too small. All are the "same" problem...a belief in separation. The answer is atonement. One problem, one solution. Miracles address the various forms that "problems" take, showing that there is "no problem" at all. For example, I had a "problem" with "death". No problem! The answer was resurrection. Resurrection is for the mind. The body responds.

I take it all back. Prayer does heal. NOT.

The Rev. Ted Haggard emerged from three weeks of intensive counseling convinced he is "completely heterosexual" and told an oversight board that his sexual contact with men was limited to his accuser.
