Stevens article promoting the repeal of the 2nd amendment reveals several things. -that gun confiscation is what it was always about. And that fact should be brought out in court when gun control laws are challenged. (just as liberal judges claim that what legislative allies said mattered when it came to the 6 nation immigration ban) -a tacit admission that gun control legislation is barred by the 2nd amendment -the 2nd amendment recognizes a natural, inalienable right. Repealing the 2nd amendment does not extinguish that right.

Our government does stuff like that all the time. There’s agents that infiltrate drug cartels, terror organizations, foreign governments. There’s always a high level of risk when going after people like that. These missions and operations are hard to defend but in a lot of cases it takes a lot of risk to get to the target. I think you hard core right wing types are sort of creating a self fulfilling prophecy. I don’t know if anyone who wants to repeal the second amendment but because of the amount of resistance to basic regulations it has now entered the conversation. NRA members:
