Why We Should Never Compromise On Gun Rights

  1. Here are some “fun” statistics related to school age deaths (Annual average deaths). Some numbers extrapolated.

    Deaths in school shootings, 28
Includes 27 deaths in 2018 and annualized with prior four years (2014-12, 2015-19, 2016-9, 2017-15) of school shooting deaths to create this annual average.

I wonder how many school shooters were motivated by the extreme amount of overly emotional coverage as in copycat crimes?

    Deaths in schoolbus accidents, 99
This number is derived and estimated from official, broader statistics.
    Source: crashstats.nhtsa.dot.gov
Almost makes one want to lobby Congress to require seatbelts in schoolbuses.

    Deaths by falling TVs, 104
This number of deaths include children younger than school age.
    Source: cbsnews.com
I would never hold the media as being indirectly responsible for these children’s deaths as in no media equals no TVs equals no children deaths by TV.

    Deaths by child abuse, 316
Ages 6 to 19 derived from official, broader statistics.
    Source: childwelfare.gov
Possible news headline: Kids, you are 10 times safer in school than at home!

    Deaths by distracted driving, >1500
Ages 15 to 19 estimated and derived from official, broader statistics.
    Source: teensafe.com
Wondered how many died while texting about gun control?

    Deaths by infectious diseases, 16,375
    Ages 12 to 19
    Source: cdc.gov
The Liberals in California want to remove chlorine and fluoride from public water supplies. In addition, many are not allowing their children to get immunization shots. It was not that long ago bacteria and viruses where responsible for a much larger percentage of deaths than today. A lot of our added life expectancy is due to germ free water. Compare to third world countries life expectancies without clean water for their citizens.

As these statistics show, the Left has gone beyond overboard with the hysterical reaction to school shootings as compared to other causes of school age deaths. This clearly shows the Left’s real agenda is to further restrict and abolish gun ownership rights.

Where the Left has total political control of a city, they have enacted laws that effectively eliminated civillian gun ownership. What do you think is going to happen when they gain control of all three branches of our national government?

The next question is why does the Left really want our guns? They obviously don’t really care about children death as measured by the much higher death rates in areas that get little relative attention. Indeed this misallocation of resources has diverted appropiate attention from the leading causes of children death. The Left’s real reason for eventual gun confiscation is they know we really will not like what they have planned for us.

If they get our guns, we will not be able to do anything about it. The Left argues that guns are useless against a well armed militia. My answer is that one may want to ask the rebels in Afganistan how they did against Russia and the United States. Furthermore, many in our millitary will not buy into unlawful orders initiated by the Left. With many millions of citizens owning many millions of guns, we the people would be more effective at asserting our rights than the citizens of Afganistan were.

Now that we have exposed the Left’s plans, what are we going to do about it? We must commit to each other that we will spread the word and implore other people to do the same.

If we fail, the entity that controls the Left will take our guns along with our other rights soon thereafter.

No, it's just that you're only listening to what you want to hear. This is typical to the gun control advocate mindset. There are too many of what you call assault rifles on the street at this point. the ship has sailed. That's my argument. A ban would be totally ineffective.

Again, failing to hear the crux of the argument and listening to only what you want. What you call an assault rifle can be used to defend oneself from bad people with the same. Pipe bombs don't meet this criteria.

You can say "BS" all you want. Doesn't make it fact.

    Define safe.

  4. Care to link to more than 10 incidents in the past 10 years where in America a home invader with semi automatic weapons was successfully defended by the owner with semi automatic rifles as well? I doubt we find 10.

Really? You know this from how?

I can tell you from personal experience that getting a gun without a background check is very, very easy.

  6. Ha, play on words? Sure fire way to tell someone they reached the end of their argument. Switzerland had incredibly strict regulations on gun ownership. Read up on it yourself. Gun related crimes are among the lowest. Hence reducing gun related crimes highly correlates with stricter gun control..you are right in that it has nothing to do with a binary outcome, gun ownership or not. Here gun control means reporting requirements, background checks, mendacity training , storage requirements, no carry permissions...

He has no idea what the hell he is talking about. He frequently uses made up terms and phrases he picks up from the media and or internet.

This is a disingenuous statement. Most favor common sense laws, true. But many laws are already in place and simply not enforced. Most do not favor things like bans, etc.

    Oh, please.

    Start here.

There are plenty of stories where a homeowner shoots an intruder. Now, whether they shoot that intruder with a semi automatic weapon or a revolver or shotgun, I'm not going to go out and do all the research. But to say there aren't 10 cases of it is just flat out fucking stupid.
