Why We Should Never Compromise On Gun Rights

Hunting? What about self-defense? Why should that right (with a handgun if someone travels to a state without reciprocity) end at the state line? Isn't that worse than being temporarily inconvenienced by driving your car with a 65mph governor in a state with a 70mph speed limit?

You are obv not a US citizen. You are as close to a fascist as I have witnessed here. A Liberal that wants to militarize cops or deploy the NGuard?

We don’t imprison people bc they’re idiots. If so, I’ve got a POTUS and a brother in law that you need to talk to.

I was just at the Waldorf in Chicago and they had CCTV everywhere. You’re going to install 3rd gen NV CCTV on ‘Hood streets? That is profiling, Sir.

    1984? Ever heard of Orwell?

Let's say for the sake of argument that happens. Are you willing to physically go door to door in order to confiscate the tens of millions of AR's already in legal ownership by law abiding citizens or are you going to grandfather them in ? Don't bring up buyback because that won't work here except for fencing operations and there's serious research out there now that questions the effectiveness (in terms of the percentage of civilian-owned firearms taken out of public circulation) of the Australian program.

To really be effective you're going to have to mandate that all hunting and target rifles be single shot. There are tens of millions of semi-auto shotguns with tubular magazines and semi-auto hunting rifles with and without detachable magazines. The military for decades used pump action (not semi auto or auto) shotguns with tubular magazines - so we might as well throw in pump action shotguns (tens of millions of those, too). Are you going to confiscate those too or grandfather them in ?

  4. Again, you show a shocking lack of logic. No, Johnnny nutjob would NOT be able to, as you say "be able to go out and get a banned weapon with little or no effort despite your ban."

    That's just stupid.

And yes, it is not perfect. Just like speed limits don't prevent speeding, but we have those laws anyway.

  5. In a land full of pussies perhaps. In a place where football players wear full body armor protection unlike how the rest of the world plays the sport bare handed and in a country where going 70mph feels insane when in other countries driving 220 km/h is rather normal then perhaps you are right. Maybe we need to first clean up those bizarre contradictions in a country where guys consider themselves tough when they throw around with gun lingo and watch sports games where all the sissies on the field wear helmets, chest protectors, arm protectors and what have ya.

But back to being serious, sure I do see your point it's a tough situation that requires tough compromises. The only question is : are we all gonna sit there and talk until the super mass killing occurs with 200 or 500 or 2000 dead and act then or are we looking into how we can figure out a way out of mass gun ownership that really served no other purpose than to let a tiny minority in this country enjoy their gun fetish.

  6. I was not suggesting such. I used idiots in the context of criminals Sorry it came across wrong. I proposed to be tough on criminals. And I think you got my point unless you intentionally want to read between the lines.

In 2017, about 42 percent of U.S. households had at least one gun in possession.

  9. Profiling? We gotta end this PC BS. Seriously. And I am neither Republican nor Democrat nor liberal nor conservative. I just have a hard time to further put up with nonsensical arguments that are slung back and forth between both camps. It's stupifying. And I don't address you with this in the slightest. I don't mean any ill to you. I even respect your gun fetish. But if I could decide I would not think a second and rather take the toys away from a few fun fetishists and in favor of a safer America.

Ps by the way, you bet its profiling. It's criminal profiling. If those happen to be black so what. If white so what. If yellow so what.

    Over 50% in SUI.

Most of us law-abiding citizens only shoot one gun at a time. Swiss invasion possible?
