Why was the "Objections to SCT" thread closed?

  1. I find the whole controversy ridiculous.

If a successful trader comes and says he studied the methodology and found it to be worthless, I would understand and respect that opinion.

But for mediocre, at best, wannabe professional traders who have NOT studied or applied any of the methodology to their trading repertoire to come and say it doesn't have merits is plain bs.

Even Hypo has acknowledged to have adapted many of Jack's ideas into his trading. I have. Anybody with a brain would.

I would venture to say, that even in the worst of cases, some "quality" is necessary for "sticking" to the process...

I agree with Bitstream, weird to see others spend so much time and effort in talking down a methodology they can't even comprehend.

  2. It can all be trumped.
Apply for a "Hershey Method" trademark at the USPTO. Cease and desist is what he'll hear.

  4. Strongly agree especially about seeking professional help (therapy) considering the Jack stalkers I've talked to at EliteTrader.com via pm, email and the open forum...

All have admitted there's other things that they don't like about him that has nothing to do with his trade methodology.

By the way, all those I've talked to have admitted they've never used his methodology nor do they want to.

Yet, they will spend many more months or years still starting threads about him.

This type of psychotic behavior or obsession with him is a little scary.

Maybe its time for someone to write a book about their obsession/relationship with Jack. :p

Could be a good read especially considering some of the Jack stalkers have advanced writing skills and advanced degrees.

  5. Just to be clear, I never said that Jack's method either does or doesn't have any merit. Rather, I merely take exception to Jack's claims, which he defends with aimless ramblings. Similarly, flies are irresistibly drawn to horse droppings.

  6. Oh, come now, Mark. You're being a tad dramatic, wouldn't you say? Before you pronounce me or those of my ilk as psychotic, perhaps you should endeavor to dissect some of Jack's dementia-laden ramblings (posts) and try to extract a modicum of coherent information from them. I would be interested to read your assessment of this (other)worldly gentleman's diatribes. Then you can go about finalizing your diagnosis regarding our mental competence. Really.

  7. Your post suggest you don't read all my posts since I've been here at ET.

Simply, don't worry about what I've discussed about Jack.

However, for the record, I don't stalk him, I don't start threads about him, I've never used his method, I've never attempted to learn his method.

Yet, I don't get lost when the few times I did read his posts which is amazing considering english is not my first language.

As for mental competence, as one banned ET member (a psychologist) once said at ET...

(I'm sure you know who I'm talking about).

He himself wonder what the hell he was doing with his time and energy spent with debating with/about Jack. :D

By the way, I do know two part-time traders that are psycho therapists here at ET in good standing as ET members...

I'm sure their opinion wouldn't be too far away as that of the banned ET member I mentioned (I could be wrong).

Maybe they should become sponsors and offer their services. :p

I'll leave you guys alone now with your thoughts about Jack because I have more important things to do now such as watch Florida versus UCLA (go Bruins).

If you want to keep your community crime free, you don't just chase away the burglars once and be done with it. You must keep after them forever, even ad nauseum.

If you want the ET community to be a high quality community, you can't just sit idly by while some assclown makes absurd and unsubtantiated claims about his trading ability. Some of the anti-Hershey posters are a little overzealous, but they wouldn't do it at all if they didn't care about the quality of ET.

  9. As a general answer to the question "Why do they waste their time?", for myself I can only answer "Because it's fun!" I think it is for Jack, too, because he has made some long posts during RMH when I would have thought he should be monitoring the market. Unless he writes that rambling foolishness up outside RMH and posts it during to aggravate us.
