Hahaha ... Ayyyee know! But its fun to talk about. So whats the verdict on Marsman? Was it paper trading, real dollars, or those Venezuelan dollars that are like 20,000 to a nickle?
That is an interesting and good point, but I assume the account was in the backer's name. If this was a new backer, than it is a completely different account. After all the backer wouldn't just send him money, just let him access his account for trading but without withdrawing privilege. At least that is how I would set it up... But a new backer wouldn't just throw 80K right away at him, probably would start with a smaller amount and build it up from there. But who knows???
I sim traded the Jan 50 calls, 25 puts 44 days out and I keep ending up with a loss. Stock was at 35, the calls are 11 the puts are 9. Putting even money on both sides ends up with a slight loss, once the stock fell to bellow 6... He posted the risk profile of the trade, but I just don't see that it is accurate, unless I am missing something. He must have sold more calls than puts... Another problem: The picture he posted also shows a Jan 55 call, that isn't mentioned in the risk profile. Oh yeah and it says Total long options, but we were talking about selling premium, not buying it.... Also, if you just made 410K real money, why would you post your sim results right after that? Once you are a big boy and graduated from HS, why go back to kinder garden?
You mean he was doing monkey business ? Like this? Humans are very clever and we get clever , when it is not in our interests .When given a highly profitable system , we second guess systems , because we are smart and smarter than the creator of the system. We are like monkeys and do monkey business on live accounts .It is called self sabotage. We are curious and try new things , inventions and do the same in trading. We get too clever for our own good in trading ,like these monkeys.
Okay... it's time... I call total Bull Shit on Marsman. He wouldn't recognize risk profile if it was staring him in the face. Very cute how he has a chart showing his "risk"... but by the looks of the number he put down... he's short something like at least 1500 calls. Which surely he wouldn't understand, but that completely blows his account risk right out of the water.... that's a risk of something like 3.5 mln at 100.... And why didn't he use IB's risk navigator, but some website??? Anyway, let's not call this a strategy anymore... to just sell everything isn't a strategy to be proud of. Again, roulette gives better odds... It's sad really....
He supposedly sold 28000 of the 70 strike calls, yet the open interest is only 2.9K. The same discrepancies exist in all other strikes. Altogether he supposedly sold ~66K puts and ~157K calls. Anybody wants to do the commission on that? So we can put this trade into the realm of fantasy...
No by that he means 280 calls with 100 underlying = 28000, since he uses some shitty website instead of IB... So 660 puts and 1570 calls....
