Why Was Marsman Stifled?

(if for real indeed) He made 600k on the Jan 50 call, which he probably shorted at about $10. So he would've been short 600x50 calls.

Still I think it's a shit strategy, since he would've blown 1.2 mln+ if the stock had gone to $80. Which was a very credible scenario.... there were talks of >100. And at 100, he's down 2.4mln.

So no matter how it turned out, luck doesn't make a good trader... just a lucky one. Everyone needs a little luck, but my standpoint holds... sooner or later he will get chopped... he just escaped a major one...

I don't know why everyone is so in awe... sure, 400k is nice to make... but surely you guys look at the risk right?

400k return vs 1.2 mln risk.... or even 2.4 mln risk....
Get real people! I get better odds at the f@#$ing roulette table....

Just one more thingy... he refers to his Dec 9 twitter post of his activity statement as his paper trading account....

I always thought he was selling strangles. Selling just one side isn't a strategy, as you said that is just playing roulette. I seriously doubt that was real money and he was able to find a backer who lets him play coinflip with 80K.

If it was real money, he should drop the backer because he (Marsman) already has enough money to go alone. The backer should count his money and call it a very lucky day and not risk it anymore...

Also, if he really would've blown his first account and be in debt to Interactive Brokers... to get a new account with them he would have to pay of that debt... and on top of that IB would be a bit more strict on the new account...

Hard to believe I must say.
I thought the whole idea was a "no risk" way to win. I guess he rolled the bones. Thats nuts. Or a death-wish if you are using someone else's money.

Whatever....Wonder what the next trade will be.

  10. From the december tweets, he is talking about paper account. He is also asking those with more than 100k to take out 10k for him to trade.
So , on his paper account, he risked 1.2mln to generate 400k. Basically a 3:1 , risk 3 to win 1.
Same way of trding than one lad here who was jubilant about a 100$ gain, with 4000$ heat.

If that is the case, Marsman, should come back and start really working so as to trade well.
He should know that many have come before him.
