I think TT's brain is wired for engineering math. people like Ed Thorp would be better fit for working on the market problems (probability). so was Ferma right? (9^3 + 10^3) = 12^3 = 1729
Are you saying my age is showing? They think we don't understand technology, I KNOW they don't know history, mass psychology and basic finance.
Or life without money. When I'd go to Mexico City, the car from the airport to the hotels in the Santa Rosa district was always an interesting ride. I notice things others don't, and one thing, of ALL the things I took away from those many car rides... was how happy families, multi-generational families, were, having picnics in parks. Smiles that would light up the night. You don't see that here.
But, but... America is the land of the free!! Never mind the homeless coming to harass you for drug money, or the thug coming to shoot you simply because you're there, or the Karen who thinks you're the homeless or the thug and shouldn't be there, or the cop who has nothing better to do to than check your ID just for the shits of it...
What's that have to do with MMMX? As for America, people should have the right to feel safe when they walk down the street. Right? It's easy to cast stones, but from where I sit, I wish more cops were checking more ID's and arresting more pos mentally challenged beings that are threats to the norm of modern society. I'd rather spend money helping them, than sending 350, $120K/copy, Artemus artillery shells to the fucking Ukraine. (yeah I know... this one will make me a lot of friends here. ) Edit:.... Because... "Russia will certainly invade Poland next." Right.
I experienced the same. In Africa or Latin America or Philippines or Mexico people seem a lot happier and smile much more.
I saw Terry Tao in the old Bragg Adelaide uni lecture theatre for 6 weeks. He couldn't have been 12 and was sitting 2nd Year Applied Math - Linear Algebra II from memory....i thought to myself as many others would have , who the hell is this kid ? He was stationed at Flinders Uni which was more of a medical/Arts Uni than the more academic Adelaide Uni. He was youngest to win a IMO gold medal ever i believe. I think he might still hold that record.
It would be trivial on my part to imply that you are superannuated. Mass psychology or mob psychology?
