Why This Computer Scientist Says All Cryptocurrency Should “Die in a Fire”

  1. Something to note:

When you argue with crypto acolytes you must have in mind that they always speak about unrealized profits. Profits in fiat currency by the way.

So they never lose anything, because they hold their shitty currency in their digital wallets hoping that it will go the moon. It is not a proper argument since they don't follow the same rules that we do.

For Baron it is not flat. For him flat level is 58% higher than the actual price.

At one time you had the opportunity to cash in for 100. Now you can get 10. If nothing else it has to eat into your emotionl capital.

Reality is you still have your 10, but what is your goal in investing? Missed opportunity for sure. And I am one that says that I'd rather miss opportunity than lose money. I guess it's no different than me not buying at 10. :) But I didn't tie up my capital or spend any emotional capital.

Nonsense. Again you are treating crypto different.

How about if someone bought just yesterday below current price.

How about if someone bought SPY or eMini yesterday above yesterday's close. They have to hope it opens or at least trades higher than where they bought.

Respond back to me when you get it - that cryptos just like stocks, bonds, futures, options go up go down, and in the case of some stocks and bonds, go .... bust.

I haven't even finished putting on a position yet, so the last thing I'm thinking about is if I'm up, down, flat etc. When the market tanks, I don't think "should I bail out?". I think, "Should I buy more at this level or wait for the possibility of buying at an even lower price." I've literally been sitting on my hands for months contemplating the same question.

It happens all the time with stocks and bonds. I happened to me once and I didn't like it so I changed my ways.
I only buy stuff, including crpyto that is increasing in value. I never hold assets that are trending downward. I've opened small positions in crypto(BTC) twice this year and taken a small loss both times. I would never let an asset that had gone up 10 times return to breakeven.

But now you are deflecting. Who cares if stock and bonds do the same thing. To have something increase in value 10 times and then let it go back to breakeven seems like a waste of time and money. You at one time had $100 and now you have 10 and your OK with that because other people do it?:banghead:

Why would you sleep at night knowing your investments were falling in price?
