Why the markets didn't react to Senate passing healthcare bill?

This bill is comical. It's still going to leave millions uninsured and paying fines as a result. I wonder how long it will take before the first American finds him or herself in jail for not having insurance. Welcome to America.

  2. Jail? What are you talking about?

Lol. I would like to see them try to enforce it.

Just because the leadership has deserted America, does not mean America is deserted.

  3. Well, minor part of the bill (health services) won't be fully recognized, but the REAL objective of the bill (ie, higher taxes, higher premiums, and much greater government-up-our-asses intrusion into citizens lives) will be felt much sooner.

I'll garantee you corks were popping in Corporate boardrooms when this passed the Senate. This will give cover to any co that wants to gradually pass along their current HC costs onto the public. Case in point: "Cadillac" health plans. These can cost upwards of $20,000 for a family. These plans will be taxed at 40% over $8,500. What's a good corporate citizen to do? Why, cut the cost of the plan down to $8,500, or close to it. That's a huge savings for co's with thousands of employees.

And BTW, the markets have been reacting to this debate. They've been going up for months. :D

  5. No one is going to give up anything for BO. Increased taxes will be passed on to consumers or result in more job cuts. This is the perfect recipe for the double dip recession. The markets will react to that.

  7. More than a handful of States' Attny's General are mounting a Federal lawsuit over the deal Neb. got. Seems Sen. Nelson was given all of his states' Medicaid financial needs in perpetuity.
It won't be long until SCOTUS strikes down much, or even all of this healthcare bill as unconstitutional.
The court fight hasn't even started.:)

  8. True, but while the court wars wage on (for many years), Obama and his goons will collect taxes to "pay" for this crap. By the time these laws are dissected a significant economic effect will have been felt.
