Let's take a look at what Mr. Gordon Gekko has said in the past: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=76773#post76773 http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=76778#post76778 http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=76925#post76925 Arbtrader's advice still stands. At least you got rid of the picture. Nothing has changed. That one still stands. My assessment is that you are either fucking with the board or a complete jackass. The former is pretty impressive and the discipline needed to carry it off for six months means you are most likely profitable. The latter give you two choices; one is to actually change which is highly unlikely since you are a jackass, the other is to quit and get a job. Step completely away from trading and work to build up your capital. Reflect a little on your failure, reread old posts, and after a couple of years try again. I recommend getting a job as there is no reason to flush money down the toilet.
Depends on the system... not all systems produce large drawdowns. Depends on the methodology behind the system.

Well, you might not want to get into the assessment business for very long. Gordon is just confused, young and wants to get profitable and expend the least amount of effort doing so. At some point, after he loses too much money or he decides to step back and really get serious, then he'll slowly come around. However, to call someone a "jackass" just because they are reaching out for help from frustration is really immature.
may be GG shouldn't be too hard on himself... trading requires a lot LUCK Having a edge is important , but unlike blackjack or some game where the rules are FIXED and odds can be calculatated mathematically the edge is not consistent in the market and sooner of later it loses its "sharpness" I think LUCK still plays a very important role in the markets.. If I tell you about my experience, it will probably going to piss everyone on ET off.. I am 24, just got out of college, started trading last year after reading some books I have been profitable every month 10 month stragit net more than $500k ...I trade a simple trend-following system with money management principles that everyone on ET knows of...nothing really special... the secret of sucess i that I am just damn LUCKY..
Gekko going public? Elite Trader member Gordon Gekko who recently set the world record with his 39,257th consecutive losing trade, announced today that he is considering posting a public journal on ET. Gekko, who currently resides in a cardboard box under a bridge on Interstate 95, made the comment while holding up a hand lettered sign that reads: Will work for hot stock tips, along side the highway that serves as his home. Gekkoâs story is one all too familiar to seasoned board members. Having made a quick .03 cents on a 50 lot the first time out, the young lad quit his day job to trade the market full time. At first emulating TonySanDiego, and later aphexcoil (Who some call the human Money Machine), Gekko will announce final plans before the week begins anew.
Heh, yeah, I don't know what the fuck people are worried about - there aren't any fucking grannies in here... You should go to the spoos pit in Chicago if you want to hear some real fucking shit. In the pit, you may even get spit on. Or walk into the NYC Worldco office and see the fists in walls and the keyboards stuck in exploded monitors... [Spit, Scratching my balls] nitro
