Why the HELL IS IB CLOSED on USD/JPY from 12-12:30am est?

IB SCREWED ME again. Was in a short position on the usd/jpy at 120.17 on IB. Apparently, they close from 12am-12:30am est but I am seeing trades go off all through this time i'm stuck.

WHY IS IB CLOSED FOR 30 MINUTES WHY THE USD/JPY IS STILL TRADING?

 

looks like ALL forex trading is halted, 12:37am still halted.

what the F is up with this bs?

It's not down, nor is it closed.

Did you by any chance think of calling the Customer Service desk?
They would be able to tell you the status of the exchange, the status of your account, and could take an order for you if you so desired.

at that hours sometimes IB forex quotes stops but you still can place an order.

 

customer service desk is closed at midnight est, isnt it?

is there another number?

 

from what I understand customer service desk switches around the clock from Hong Kong to Europe to US and back to Hong Kong again, so it should always be open

 

yes, but how do i contact IB during the halt from 12am to 12:45am when quotes and orders are halted or better yet, how do i get OUT of my position?

you should have multiple accts, so if one acct has issues you can hedge out in another at a different broker.
