So now the mayor of L.A. has called for everyone wearing a mask if they are leaving their home. Not so much to protect themselves as to protect others. This makes much sense. It is one of the things South Korea did to contain the spread. This advice of the Mayor of Los Angeles is different from what previously the federal government told U.S. citizens. Now finally. when it is very very late, expect the incompetent Federal government to suggest wearing masks. Remember when they said, "don't wear them." That was because they knew there were not enough for hospital personnel. Wearing a mask for this sort of thing has always been a good idea.
