Why should the health care industry be a for profit institution?

  1. You are such an extremist all or nothing thinker...let me guess, you vote republican...right?

I know it is a hard concept for you, but some people actually get more out of life helping others than they do just chasing profits...

That doesn't preclude those who want to help others from making a reasonable living, it just means that their primary intention is service to mankind...the reason and purpose for their existence is higher than a pig in mud...

  2. Actually, one only has to have common sense to make arguments against the OP's stupid assertions.

Although it is funny of you to question the veracity of my being a health care professional.

Now not only are you obviously a socialist, but you have absolutely zero insight to the lives and choices of the people whose lives you feel big enough to control.

Of the multitude of nurses in this country how many do you think got the education and took the job ONLY to help others?

How many do you think went down that path because it was a good job and they would be able to support their families, while maybe feeling good about what they do?

After the fact, nurses strive to do a good work to keep their jobs, advance, and provide a good service.

If you would like to have a reasonable discussion fine...

If you want to throw and tantrum and make shit up...fine as well.

However, I will not be engaging your tantrums...

  9. For years, he's also owned a chunk of Rite-Aid stock. So apparently profiting from the retail arm of the pharmaceutical industry is ok but going through the hassle of paying scientists to develop medications is pure greed.

Actually though I think Optional is correct. No one should profit from ANY profession. Food is too high because of those greedy farmers, cars are too expensive because of those evil automobile manufacturers, index vol is too pumped because those options traders won't hit the bid and we should all be sickened that people would actually practice law, teach in universities or manage businesses just so they can put money in their pocket.

We need a new historical reference. Maybe this can be year 2 AO (After Obama though I can't wait until it's AOD ). The only people allowed to have a pot to piss in are those who made cha-ching back when evil capitalist Bush was still President. We can now gleefully serf for those rich fucks. We're being ungrateful to Big Government. Here they are throwing our wives a free teeth cleaning and monogram and we're asking for MORE, like an actual chance to be economically self-sufficient. I don't know about you Mom0/pH0x but I'm pretty pumped to hang out for 70 years or so without aspirations other than being dependent on Government.

  10. I don't have a problem with that at all. I do have a problem with him ASSuming it's okay for him to make a profit for his work and not professionals doing so in health care.
