Why should a girl have to be allowed to play on boys baseball team?

  1. Sniff, sniff. What's that smell? Rome burns while we debate girls on boy's baseball teams, gay marriage, etc. etc. Is it any wonder voter apathy is so high. Oh yeah, that's the plan to begin with.

  3. Have you ever talked to kids about this issue? Or should I say "listened" to what kids have to say on this issue?

And..if the rest of the team resented a girl playing, they probably were called "bigots" and told to go play ball elsewhere.

Probably the coach and administrators bullied the kids to let the girl play.. We need the rest of the story here.

If she sat out 2 games, why couldn't she sit out one more, where's the sprotmanship? The good of the team?

I have a 6 year old and a 12 year in baseball and 10 year old who rotates between baseball and spring soccer. The only thing my kids would care about is trying to beat the team with the girl. My 12 year old who has recently started to get more aggressive (he now loves striking out his friends) would definitely want to strike her out.

Frankly I am typically an anti p.c. guy... but I do not see this boy girl divide... if the girl can compete why not... this is not wrestling or football.

And, note they have already played in groups with girls in golf tournaments and not a thought came up... other than my 10 year old was happy he beat her by a 2 strokes. She was in the girls division... but the reality is she and he were competing and the scores are posted on a board.

I didn't know that the baseball team issue was on anyone's election platform. Got a link?

In the meantime, if all everyone should ever talk about is a single subject matter, then why the need for more than one thread, let alone one forum?

    I thought about this.
My 12 year is probably getting more aggressive because he is getting taller, and stronger and throws hard. So at some point it will be dangerous for a girl to play in a league where strong pitchers could break their arms with fastballs.

So when it becomes dangerous for girls it might be time to re think this issue.

    lol.

They'll probably mandate underhand pitch softball. There will be no score, no winners, no losers and no fun.

The kids that won by default will never feel like champions and will always remember that their season was ruined by one ball-breaking female. Some accomplishment.
