No Rob had it right, its weird prostitution use to be legal in America and you would think it would be legalized and taxed, like once upon a time. Drugs use to be legal in America as well. My neighbor when she was a little girl the Dr. gave her marijuana, that was 80 years ago tho and it worked. All the non profits should be made to pay taxes and non profit status done away with, so much chicanery these days. And why isn't the pope in jail along with others?
Why go so far back, think of the places where weed is legal right now and places where attitudes towards drugs is more lax - it's not Alabama or Kansas - it's California and Colorado. Without the evangelical morons with their endless hypocritical preaching, these would never have been an issue.
One interesting angle with the legalization of marijuana is that corporate drug testing requirements have not kept pace with the changing of laws in states. Usually when you start a consulting gig the company requires that you take a drug test. If a consultant lives in Colorado where weed is legal and partakes -- then goes to work in another state -- many times they will flunk the drug test and be let go. A similar situation occurs in Canada - on October 17, 2018 marijuana will be legal across Canada. However corporations (for example banks in Toronto) still drug test new hires and will terminate you if you fail a drug test for marijuana.
Agreed, and with their dark pools of cash and involving themselves deeper and deeper into politics we need to take away their tax dodging free loading financial schemes, such as the non profit status.
