Are you kidding me? The Economist, USA today, Financial Times, Wall St Journal... Are you 20 years old? Geez. The East coast of China is booming, the rest is in the shithole. Do a little homework Elroy.
Wow Jayford, Sounds like somebody hasn't gotten laid in a while. I simply asked for some kind of reference that 66% of China is in "complete poverty." Having traveled extensively I understand that the perceptions most people from the US have of other countries are way, way out of wack. Do you understand this? Are you 80 yrs old and never left the US? I read every article on China that I can get my hands on. And from my readings, I came to believe that China's growing middle class was approaching 40% of the population, assuming they have an upper class at 10% like most countries, that would leave a maximum of 50% left in poverty. I have several friends who were born in China and visit regularly and they are amazed at how many people there are profiting from the boom. So that's it, I just asked where the number came from. You need to relax man, if you can't find a girl to do you, go rub one out.
80 to 100 million people are on the move at any given time. Because they can't eat! I got these exact numbers ten seconds ago. I don't know how to attach here, but this is the web address... www.unchina.org/about_china/html/pover ty.shtml I have lived in more countries than you will even visit (England, Finland, Russia, Ecuador, Brazil, the Dominican republic, Guatamala, Singapore) I also have international degrees from Utah, and Thunderbird. Ranked #1 by The Wall St Journal, Financial Times, etc. You are an idiot!!!
So let me get this straight. You have International degrees from two universities but you think I am an idiot because I asked where you got your stats. Hmmmm? Did you even read past the first paragraph of what you just linked to? It says 77% of the population live ABOVE the poverty line. That leaves 23% for below the poverty line in case you are bad at math. The 100 mil on the move is less than 8% of the population of China. Were you aware there are 1.3 billion people in China? I won't even touch where you have lived, Jayford, probably never left Utah. So you sir, is the Idiot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_the_People's_Republic_of_China http://devdata.worldbank.org/wdi2005/Section1_1_1.htm http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-10/16/content_6888061.htm
