well..ANY improvements anyone..and tell the truth..as lying really gets you nothing! i have my new IB account all set up.. partially funded as i got dragged away by some serious business..might start trading some MES in the near future..and might also look at the new small crypto futures just launched by thesmallexchange.. the only thing i don't like about the smalls futures contracts is the spreads are still bit wide and market time constraints..but..they are still very tradeable..and if you subscribe to the exchange for a mere $100 you get 0.07 cent rebate per trade.. they are the cheapest futures contract to trade with IB if you are subscribed..they are taking a while to get any real volume..but i think they will..as they really do offer a very low cost way to trade for the pleb..and i plan to do a lot of trading with the smalls once i start trading seriously..
Not really... Cleared up the mess on my desktop, threw away lots of "works half the time" and now I'm testing something I never thought of before; something very simple (but with many variations )
fwiw..you must have a simple method with no variations..in other words..it is what it is..no ifs..no buts..no maybes.. when you SEE that in front of you..it is then just a matter of TIME
AH, apparently you are missing us ! It has been a very tough struggle for me but lately I have developped a method which I believe is the famous Trade US stocks stocks only, as propaganded by TE, TO etc. Though I wish to have a little chat about some random statements made by them around the method. Not the method in itself of course. Btw: many thanks for the input! GO
testing the small futures 2 year treasury yield..as u can see the commission with IB is 0.22 cent per side..plus you get 0.07 cent rebate from the small exchange if you are a subscriber..which i am..so cost per side is 0.15 cent or 0.30 per round trip! pity these futures contracts don't take off a bit quicker..as i expect they will once people become aware of the very low funding cost and very low commissions!
a famous saying is.. "it is not the strongest who survives..but the species that can adapt quickly to change" currently...i think that change involves the MES futures and thesmallexchange futures.. the MES is obviously the best market..but The Smalls offer a great opportunity for low risk trading with small money..and they have a great monthly newsletter on pairs trading opportunities.. stocks are of course still very tradeable..but you need a lot more cash..pay higher commissions..and you don't have the benefit of 24hr trading as with the MES.. The Smalls are still time limited trading..but still offer some very good low risk trading opportunities!!
the 2 year treasury note small futures is not what i initially thought it was..so..if i am going to trade it i need to try and understand it..seems like a waste of time when the MES has it all..but it is interesting so i will try and understand it a bit more! https://indexit.dxfeed.com/?symbol=2Y:SME https://www.treasurydirect.gov/instit/instit.htm. any "experts" on this stuff feel free to explain
I use a screentrader from PRT, in combination with IB. It allows me to react very quickly, gives enough funding, more than I need for daily executions, easy to go short as well as go long. Yes commissions are higher than the futures, but directional expectancy is way better. GO
