do not get sucked into analogies or comparisons..trading is simple.. R = R if you risk more you make more..or lose more..however..as with everything in life you must find the "sweet spot" that suits you.. once you accept the facts..stop dreaming and deal with realities..then.. T = M
hmmm, I thought about trying to move to MES but I don't know what is the leverage I will have available, need to check. Also, I have been trading forex for many years and I am kind of used to it, while overall once you figure some key things out about trading the transition from forex to futures should not be too big of a deal, I guess there still be some adaptation to do...
you should not really rely on leverage..i do not bother with leverage as most of my trades are 1 contract to start..might go to 2 or 3 but that is max..if i was day trading then it would be different as most trades would be very short term..as of now going just fine..and when something is working you don't try and fix it
time to start with a blank canvas.. tomorrow might be a volatile day depending on inauguration..initial thoughts would be pop up with a view to dropping it down..but have to wait and see..no blind entries..wait for the actual event and trade accordingly..Mr Trump has sure fuked up the good auld US of A..where i come from we have a special name for people like him..he is a GOBSHITE
will check the MES thing out, my account is quite small now days (about8K) so I had to use leverage for Forex, will need to see if I can make enough intraday with MES w/o leverage. My usual day with Forex was about 100$-150$ doing 1-3 trades
is the magic number 1.234 $8k is plenty with IB..i would leave the IB account and open a new account with $1k with AMP..goal is to see how long it takes to double it
you know of course it is only a guide..but it really does help to keep you on the right side of the trade a good deal of the time..at least with a guide you can start or stop..instead of just trading nilly willy based on large moves.. as with everything..practice makes perfect..but one thing is for certain..you will never make any money unless you risk some of your money..but never risk too much..for..you will definitely never make any money if you have no money
