Example of a bull bar / bull trend:
These are the clues I see on the open of the next bar:

    OA,

    1) possible. 2) possible. 3) possible, this is what I read.

We need a good setup : We want a condition that needs to be met before we consider entering a trade. The setup is a filter which tells us when the odds are in our favor but it is not telling us when we should enter the trade.

A clear trend is a good setup. Without good setups you are lost in the market.

There was no good setup on the Amazon chart. Can you post another US stock, like CONE or QCOM, or both.

There we go; two nice trends!
Please give me a clue for the set-up:
CONE: is it the open of bar #6 or # 7
QCOM: open of bar #8, or earlier #5?

    OA,

Please give me a clue for the set-up:

CONE: is it the open of bar #6 or # 7 .

Are you talking about set-ups or entries now? The open is part of the set-up. As are HLC. After a qualifying set-up you need an entry. A set-up is what you use to make a selection before market opens. An entry appears or does not appears after the open. # 6 and #7 are the first set-up. Second is #7 and #8. Third is #8 and #9. Fourth is #11 and #12. I spot a possible good entry in #8, but I can only be sure in 5 min. chart. I checked and it did, but you had to be swift.

QCOM: open of bar #8, or earlier #5?[/QUOTE]

#4 and #5 do confirm as a set-up. No entry though at #6. #7 and #8 are the first set-up. Second is #8 and #9. Third is #9 and #10. I checked #10 in the 5 min, it gave a good entry.

    Thanks!

    It looks like you're paring them;
    1. it's starts with a good bull or bear bar
    2. the next open is important, just as the developing price action in relation to the former OHLC
    3. entries are made on a smaller TF (e.g. 5 min.)

Do you use the same method (possible daily setup) for your entries?

    OA,

This is not 5 min for CONE that specific day. I could see immediately as something was missing.

I only get in and out early. Make profit or lose some. No screen staring all day. Need volatility to make some money.

    You're right, sorry.
(My instrument wasn't synced on this double chart; my crosshair was...)

I can see your entry just after the open.
    Do you use targets?
