Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Discussion in 'Risk Management' started by nysestocks, Jan 25, 2009.

  1. What did NY mean by "for a lesser few"?

    A, B or C?

    A) for a lesser few trades
    B) for a lesser few traders
    C) for a lesser few [something else]

TO, I would guess the lesser few are those traders with more experience that may risk trades that should generally not be taken by less experienced traders...

  3. There may be a more obvious explanation. ;)

    Cue the usual misdirection.

TO, how did you lose a 6 figure sum, as you are very aware of the main thing that is required to make money trading, or have you only now become aware of it?

"The true skill of the magician is in the skill he exhibits in influencing the spectators mind."

If the textbook stuff really works, why do so many fail?

We all know hindsight is easy.

I would concur with your BL, but not your SH.

No, the lesser few are the 10% who profit from the 90%.

  8. It was 5 figures but still painful. I lost it through reckless gambling, and thinking I knew something.

For some, like me, it takes a catastrophic loss before you seriously re-evaluate what you're doing.

I know the feeling TO, as I also had a big loss, but was fortunate enough to have made the money first, but the emotions were the same.

You can make some money easily enough, once you start small and do not get carried away.

I am thinking of starting another private thread, this time it will be serious, no excel crap or anything like that, just trading with small risk for modest gains.

If any person wants to join, then they must prove they are genuine, and are ready to trade with small risk, as it is the only true way to learn.

I know 2 or 3 are interested, so if you want to join let me know and I will get it going. There will be no silly posts or time wasting of any sort, just trading, win or lose, as there will be both, that is for sure.

BTW, the group will be limited to 5 people, as too many just cause confusion, and we are going to try and replicate TFF:)

A few spots are being reserved for now, as some have already shown an interest, but if they are not ready to trade, these spots will become open to anyone who can prove they are genuine.
