So here's what I've gathered so far. In this thread u refer to multiple strategies. Variation of box breakouts and timing tops and bottoms. What's ur weekly return like? And risk per trade? How long does it take u to double the account ?
I am not trading fulltime at the moment - I do not lie as I have no reason to. Daily target will be average of $500 on resumption. Risk per trade will be chart dependant - max risk per daytrade will be $50. Doubling account is not goal for daytrading - that is a diff strategy using swing and positions with daytrading left over profits after all expenses paid - and will be dependant on volatility and markets traded. Why look for millions when thousands will suffice I am not a hollywood dreamer J_S oh yes..max hours is 2 per day
Thanks for the honesty. Can we talk more about the two t's? Trend and timing? Or have we beat that horse to death
You may ask whatever you want, but I may not have the answers you are looking for We will prob be interrupted again, and when that happens i will switch to monkey mode, as it is the only way to deal with monkeys J_S
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ion_(dialogue) Ion's choice: To be skilled or inspired (536e–542a)[edit] Ion tells Socrates that he cannot be convinced that he is possessed or mad when he performs (536d,e). Socrates then recites passages from Homer which concern various arts such as medicine, divining, fishing, and making war. He asks Ion if these skills are distinct from his art of recitation. Ion admits that while Homer discusses many different skills in his poetry, he never refers specifically to the rhapsode's craft, which is acting. Socrates presses him about the exact nature of his skill. Ion maintains that his knowledge makes him a capable military general but states that when he recites passages concerning military matters, he cannot tell whether he does it with a general's skill, or with a rhapsode's. Socrates notices that Ion changes his occupation. He was first a rhapsode and then has become a general. He gently berates the rhapsode for being Protean, which after all, is exactly what a rhapsode is: a man who is convincingly capable of being different people on stage. Through his character Socrates, Plato argues that “Ion’s talent as an interpreter cannot be an art, a definable body of knowledge or an ordered system of skills,” but instead must come from the divine inspiration of the Muses.[2] http://www.well.com/~barce/Ion.pdf
In the simplest terms, what defines a trend and where are they obvious? Remember this is the first section of TST - but alone could change the way you trade forever, so we must be careful to not give the monkeys too much info, as they are very rude and do not deserve anything only bananas In fact, in the right hands, it is worth millions - such as Mr Grey! J_S
Here is something to think about when you are going to sleep tonight - what might happen if the white line gets close to the blue line again? J_S
They got this part correct, but not too sure about the rest - what do you think? "If you can identify a trend, it can be highly profitable, because you will be able to trade with the trend." http://www.investopedia.com/terms/t/trend.asp
one final post for now....i am sure you will find the meaning easily sapere aude: incipe. qui recte vivendi prorogat horam, rusticus expec.tat dum defluat amnis: af ilk labitur et labeiurin omne voJubilis aevu if u go to the end..u will find one of the most important things ever written..and..to this day..has not changed one little bit !!!! To return to my subject, there is nothing like tempting the appetite and the interest; otherwise we shall produce only bookladen asses. With strokes of the birch we put a pocketful of learning into our pupils' keeping, But if it is to be of any use, it should not merely be kept within. It should be indissolubly wedded to the mind. J_S i recommend you find this one as well, as it is a very worthwhile read Enlightenment is man's release from his self-incurred tuf'lage. Tutelage is man's inability to make use of his understanding withou t direction from another. Self-incurred is this tutelage whe n its cause lies not in lack of reason but in lack of resolution and courage to use it withou t direction from another. Sapere aude! "Hav e courage to use you r ow n reason!"— that is the mott o of enlightenment. Laziness and cowardice are the reasons wh y so great a portion of mankind, after nature has long since discharged them from external direction (naturaliter maiorennes), nevertheless remains unde r lifelong tute lage, and wh y it is so easy for others to set themselves u p as their guardians. It is so easy not to be of age. If I have a boo k which understands for me , a pastor wh o has a conscience for me , a physician wh o decides my diet, and so forth, I need not trouble myself. I need not think, if I can only pay—others will readily undertake the irksome wor k for me .
