There are only a handful of posts, in this entire thread, which resonate with me.

Certainly far, far fewer than 10%.

Not much after the OP left. Although #1227 is worth figuring out.

#443 - I wonder why the OP answered in this way? I wonder.

Apart from #1 there is one other post where the penny finally dropped for me but that would be giving too much away.

I have read thru some of the recent and distant posts in this section, and have come to the conclusion that; the obvious is not so obvious to many!

There appears to be a lot of textbook information being thrown around, especially in relation to position sizing and risk management.

What every trader has to realise, is that all the risk management and position sizing techniques in the world are of no use what so ever, unless the trader is aware of the obvious pre-requisite to trading any market.

It will be very interesting to see what answers the many traders come up with for the obvious, those with little and lots of experience alike!

Another thing that might be interesting, or not, to look at when looking at bars is the percent (or number of points) of a bar that overlap with the previous bars. In sharp moves, there is not much overlapping. (as a consequence, in overlapping/ranging areas the close of the area will be not too far from the open). Of course, this is visually easy to see, but observing the overlapping percentage can give some mathematical confirmation.

Another thing among others that I am observing now, is that we may consider that the Markets is quite steady in his behaviour when not disturbed, but when MM (or Big Money ?) enter the Market, that will create distortion (V or A moves) and after their operating the Market will somehow resume his previous steady path, as you can see on these examples below. I am not sure yet if it can be of any help for analysis, but maybe it can help to better identify the players and their agenda. It is not always as obvious as in my examples below, but it is to give an idea. (I just used the channels to see more easily the similitudes between the trend before and after the "move" ) I highlighted only few.

The most important thing on the chart might be the empty space, not the bars. The empty space draws the bars, the bars do not draw themselves on the empty space (if it makes any sense ) But how can we analyse that empty space, what can we do with it ?
What is happening here ?
And then, what can we do with Time and this empty space ?
These are true questions, I don't have any answer unfortunately.

The tiny realisation I had changes the way to see at Markets, but is not enough for me to make the big leap. It's more like having only the toes on the other side

Hi 030985, you sure that the MM are active when you think and not the opposite?

if we assume that the MM are "controlling" price movement, we know the WHY, then WHEN and HOW are the questions than need answers. Bizzy bee can work in may different ways, but if you keep the question in your mind you can start figuring out what the bizzy bee is likely doing...and to make money we have to do what bizzy bee does, right?

TO, I would say that one Obvious is related to time and Trading but not the time on the chart... and so the Time = Money equation is solved (in one of its solutions, there are others possible ones as well)
