Well, after weeks of scouring over this thread... That is my best guess. I have some thoughts I how you could profit on these very basic assertions, but i dont think they are worth discussing. They are nothing new. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
It takes time to digest, and through some type of osmosis you come to the view that, yes, it is basic, but also valuable and obvious. Like most, my initial reaction was similar to yours, and my first posts somewhat bewildered, because, like Buzzy, I have an in built tendancy to seek the complex answers and apply them, which simply obfuscates the simplicity which stares you in the face. Half the battle is acceptence the other half is yeilding. That's my take so far. Take it on face value, digest and re-read. Regards The Bogan
Perhaps it's just a glitch in excel but I don't see fills on the bid or ask on the big spike down. Is it because T&S doesn't show odd lots - the little guys getting sucked out?
I see big volume at the start of the move up and big volume near the top. There is also that great big spike down and back up with little volume. I take it that the volume along the bottom has been obtained from the T&S data - but then I thought that you had previously dismissed looking at volume on charts. I'm not sure how the chart is drawn. The charts shows plots in red, green and white. Presumably they are bid, ask and last price, or is white the mid price. Also being a bit thick its not clear to me how the bid and ask size relates to volume, especially for the volume of 81516. With my broker CMC markets I can see market depth for UK stocks, which I don't trade, and just the top of the order book for US stocks.
well BD..xl only shows what data it gets..the data might be right..or wrong? maybe it might be best to get rid of the volume altogether..and instead of just one chart..set up 4 charts..along with prints u see..unless u are scalping big size for a few cent..then there might be no need at all for volume and at what side the last trade is hitting..for..it is far easier to see the recent history in chart format than in table format..i will post a simple sample of some basic charts..what u make out of them will depend on how u think
the problem here is that the print color is based on bid/ask..not higher/lower than last print..they should add a setting to change this..this is where xl can be useful..it depends on how u think..but i like to see the color change for a change in price..green for next price higher and red for next price lower this layout can change slightly..it all depends on the day that is in it..what would be the obvious thing to change..and why
here is what i see. in the first post price is breaking down on every chart. on the second set of charts it is not. this is across all time frames
I'd use OHLC bars on the charts or alternatively coloured candles. I wouldn't daytrade BAC for obvious reasons. I thought Quotetracker was to be discontinued.
