Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

  1. TO, Couple Questions.

How do YOU determine where you draw your horizontal lines on your chart and why?

Would you classify your self as a trend trader, range trader, or combination of both.

I recognize mega trends are the only caveat to this. Thats where MTFA comes in. After that, should be gravy. Besides, most crashes and runaway markets are driven by seismic shifts in the fundamental landscape. So long as a trader keeps their ear to the ground, they should be able to navigate accordingly.

  3. I believe this is a puzzle that can be solved, but it requires thinking right. Hmm...

Don't think it is a puzzle as such.
Though if you really want to find out you may have to kiss the item that produced the below:

    Two week for me,
    in Tennessee,
    had not pc,
    and good it be.

Alot to read, I'm at page 296, not lurking just
    reading for now. Still here.

TN was nice, I could enjoy a cabin on the side of a hill,
trade in solitude, with no distractions like I have now.
That is what I think I need to work towards.
Or figure out how to tune out all the bullshit.

I was just wondering why Boyd keeps being mentioned as I had already read various info about him having seen references throughout this thread.

As far as intercepting aircraft is concerned, one way is:
"Proportional navigation (PN) (Pro-Nav) is a guidance law used in some form or another by most homing air target missiles. It is based on the fact that two vehicles are on a collision course when their direct Line-of-Sight does not change direction. PN dictates that the missile velocity vector should rotate at a rate proportional to the rotation rate of the line of sight (Line-Of-Sight rate or LOS-rate), and in the same direction."

Also note in the above the correct use of the word 'vector', not the BS that JH uses.

    Cycle No. 3 :D

  7. There is no cycle without corruption,
    For time has three dimensions,
So trend lines suffer much disruption,
    And curve to balance tensions,
Yet there within a random path,
    Is hidden a perfect order,
Where highs and lows call out to those,
Who see them define their border.
Momentum and energy play friend and foe,
To begin and end a trend,
    For those who cannot understand,
It drives them round the bend.
    Simplicity from complexity,
    The distillers perfect way,
So fast or slow, imbibing you'll know,
How to play it every day.
Some say it's this, some say it's that,
As if there is just one mixer,
Watch out for the guru who's after you,
And claims to be the Fixer!

The say a picture is worth a 1000 words

To demonstrate part of X’s post I share the attached (ain’t it funny how I had one readily available – not)

The actual TF, price, and symbol were omitted on purpose – they simply do not matter

    Focus instead on the picture

One could ask when were the trend lines drawn, and truth is I just “prettied” them up a little them last night

But they have been in play in this basic layout for awhile… and probably only need "extended" to remain so for the foreseeable future

Thanks RN, always enjoy your posts. Ever the consummate gentleman.

Those lines look like channels rather than trend lines and the horizontal lines seem to be drawn at turning points (support/resistance?). Very intriguing, are you saying price will at some point in the future might bounce off those channels?

This is probably a larger time frame, which you then zoom in to the lower time frame as price approaches the channels extremes?
