Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

  1. if u were swingtrading..then u would be looking at other things also

    larger moves require larger stops

So I will have to spend time thinking of that answer but is it better for us to pursue the way to think rather than the way to trade? What to look for? Once those two things are in place it then makes trading possible?

  4. exactly..the trading is the easy part..even a child can do a few mouse clicks and get in and out of the market..but..it takes a level headed person to stop and think first about what they are actually doing..and how they are going to achieve what they have set out to do

u don't see too many children working every day..apart from the countries that have nothing and slave labor is still in practice..which is an unforgivable act..and which makes Montaigne turn in his grave..no doubt:mad:

anyway..u must learn to think CORRECTLY..it is no good doing some serious thinking if u are not getting anywhere..for that is a total waste of time!

    Mind Distraction.

You sit for hours watching but when the moment to act comes my mind is somewhere else. Two losing trades in a row and I'm definitely not there when it's time to act - I'm in a mental "knock down". Sometimes instead of anticipating certain things I slip unconsciously into predicting the moves and, while waiting for that prediction to materialize, something else is happening right in front of my eyes but I'm not participating.

  7. u have described the scenario..but the words are wrong

also RY..u have failed a simple test..do u see what it is..for like XX u have also failed to LOOK before you acted!

do not feel silly or stupid..it is how everyone acts..it is just the way things are..and is exactly why one must change..otherwise..one will just become part of the crowd..and we know what they get:D

    TO,

I'm obviously blind now. Where to look?

What helped me a bit is that I started to practice "active listening" of the price talk instead of thinking as it does its talking. I also started to talk back, to "verbalize" the action to get in sync.

So this will sound dumb but how do you start to rework or unlearn what you have learned and then change the way you think?

I'll take a start at it. This is how we think now or are taught to think. We are given a topic in an educational setting, preached to and told to read books. Then sometimes application homework is given. That is supposed to train people for the real world. I haven't been in school for a good bit of years but I do know that 90 percent of what is learned in school is never used again.

How this is applied to markets for most people is they look for their teacher , ask for external tools and attempt to apply what they have learned to their trading. If this isn't correct how does someone build on a trading strategy even if they just take pieces of things they have learned from many places and try to make it their own?
