This was never claimed by any party to the case in the court of law, it is completely made up. What is true is ZImmerman went after Martin when he was told by police to back off: "About 7 p.m.: George Zimmerman, a 28-year-old neighborhood watch captain, calls 911 to report "a suspicious person" in the gated community Retreat at Twin Lakes. Zimmerman says he is following Martin after the teen started to run, prompting the dispatcher to tell him, "We don't need you to do that." Zimmerman pursues Martin anyway" What is funny is that you tout being able to pull out a gun and shoot someone if they break into your home or threaten you, but Zimmerman is pursuing this kid who did nothing wrong and Martin defends himself and gets killed for it. Zimmerman gets nothing for disobeying the police. Remember....obey the police and you won't get shot. Disobey the police and you can shoot someone.

The point is that Zimmerman did not attack Martin. Zimmerman obnoxiously followed Martin and stupidly confronted Martin verbally. Martin then physically attacked Zimmerman. See how that works?
