What do you mean by "the inability to stack multiple strategies at tick level is not good." I have many charts open with strategies running real time with no issues. Every incoming tick is analyzed by the code.
I have over 20 charts open. each chart has 1 strategy running. 5 Different instruments overall. All on NT7. Too much of an effort to port to NT8 for now.
In NT7, you can stack multiple strategies on the same chart. However, you have to manually synchronize your account position before turning your strats on. In NT8, there is a new feature which automatically synchronizes your account position with multiple strategies on the same chart.
Does anyone run > 50 strategies in NT7 live (under Strategies tab)? I don't trade all of them as some require discretionary inputs. Is it multithreaded in NT8 ?
SierraCharts is good. I have heard people say once they used SC, they never looked back into NT or MC.
NT is worth $1000 for a LT license, imo. The API is far easier to program to than its most direct comparison competitor, MultiCharts.Net. My condolences though to any at-homer thinking they can consistently scalp 1-3 ticks off of a futures contract with a positive edge long-term. You shouldn't be trading if a super high winning pct is important to you. Not saying anyone is a bad person for wanting that. Just saying that the market won't let you have it on a long-term basis.
It's hard for me to generalize like that with the limited experience that I have with scalping the ES futures. But there are a lot of 3 tick scalpers out there at home... ES
