Why is the western half of the US brown? Washington State is not desertified, so the brown is not desert. Nebraska is not mountainous, so the brown is not mountains. So what the heck is the brown exactly? Google doesn't tell, lol.
Wow, thanks. I guess I never realized those large swaths of land (tan color) in Washington and Oregon were "grass and scrub". I thought of those areas in Washington and Oregon as being tree-covered mountains, but I guess I was wrong.
