Actually he is, these days. The vendor of an e-book (and has quite recently been banned by another well-known trading forum for vendor self-promotion).
Brilliant. Resurrect an 8 month old thread to dispute your mentor's vendor status. You sound like a Team Hillary member.
No worries, Baron loves it. Otherwise he wouldn't have surreptitiously prompted Mav to start this topic and now that it's going again it's probably like double bliss what with the attacks on what's his name in the other thread ... I'm sure it's like heaven. Oh the joy. All yee praise the time wasting.
I have to laugh. Maverick74 runs around the forum like he owns this place when he is only a nonpaying house guest. Of course, if you pay the rent you get a bit more leeway and why not pay some rent? If you are making piles and piles of money why not pay a little rent to the place you have stayed for so long?
DB never begged to come back. He would be an asset if we could get him to come back ...but he doesn't want to come back. It's not about money. He wouldn't come back even if Baron paid him. Which imo is along the correct lines of thinking because DB was a huge asset. Regularly started trading topics which grew so long he closed them and started new ones. Here's the problem from a business pov. There's people on this site that don't want trading discussions. They will say that's not true and it's only Technical Analysis discusssions they don't want. Or maybe, as in Mav's case, it's only certain types of trading or TA discussions he doesn't like (to see on this site). IMO those who don't want a particular flavor of trading discussion generally speaking fit into a category where they feel their forum status or ranking is somehow threatened by the competition. DB always stepped up and eloquently defended his positions. He drew a lot of people into conversations about a vast area of topics. Twas not easy defending illogical positions in a discussion with him and those with weak positions realized everyone easily recognized their flawed positions. The thing is ...there's a few user's who consisistently cross the line of what most user's are willing to tolerate. And the content of those flame wars is by some standards just as much of a monetary asset as the more productive or civil discussions. If their was a reasonable interpretation of where to draw that line between acceptable and (consistently) unacceptable it would improve the site. But imo based on what DB has said, ...unfortunately for all of us (Baron included) ...DB's never coming back. And the attacks on valuable forum contributors continues, generally orchestrated by the same people. IMO it hurts the site but from a business pov I can see where it makes sense. IE it pays the rent but it would be better if there were a balance which enabled a larger portion of that rent to come from supporting trading related discussions.
D.B. Phoenix spent at least half of his time trolling in the Politics and Religion forum, so let's not grant him sainthood just yet. I've also read and heard from numerous people that he was the king of after the fact chart analysis...i.e. "this is what you should have done here", but in real time he was full of indecision. There is a sort of "cult like" status granted to some of these outspoken know-it-all's on these forums. No one could ever forget the Jack Hershey saga, but that seems to be the norm. Find a guy who will tell you he knows "exactly" how the market works, offer scant details as it's happening, but draw up some great charts after it's already happened, and you will find a willing flock of sheeple. If D.B. Phoenix weren't such a colossal prick, I might be inclined to say, "bring him back".
So you want to give Baron shit over this thread. The very thread that YOU just necro'd from nearly 8 months ago. Fits perfectly with your other posts.
