Nice to see we can be frank, non-PC and non-racist at the same time. If I said TX-Mexican border towns are being overrun by Mexican gangs, that's not a slight against all Mexicans. Likewise, if I said "Irish mob thugs ruined that neighborhood 60 years ago," I'm not slamming all Irish folk. But in most venues, saying criminal blacks are ruining a city brings out the PC and "you're a wacist!" crowd like nothing else. That being said, I'm sure Rahm Emanuel will will completely revitalize the Windy City in a few short years.
That's what I was saying above - people who have kids and want them to go to good schools move to best suburbs they can afford. The 7% decrease is people moving away from the worst neighborhoods to the suburbs - that's why they closed all those schools like last or so.

people don't like paying massive taxes and getting rotted infrastructure and poor schools in return. I think the thing the left leaves out of their socialist dream is that the govt has to perform if its going to tax the hell out of people. So people look at their pay vs their net and say what the hell am I paying money to those idiots for? they steal my income, tell me I should pay for sandra flucks condoms and abortions. They provide terrible education for my kids and then give themselves big salaries and send their kids to private schools.
if public school teachers were obligated to send their own children to public schools the quality of public schools would improve very quickly.
The teachers union is the reason the country's public schools are a disgrace. Like all public unions, they protect the stupid and incompetent.
Some people just don't appreciate the leftist utopia of high crime, sky high taxes and a joke of a educational system. Oh yeah, the winters and traffic suck. Other than that, it's great.
