  1. He originally linked his personal website with the remaining info in the opening post but that was deemed (presumably) to be in violation of the TOS here and was deleted.

  2. based on my rule when I trade, I am doing business, I must focus and highly dsiciplined. I can not goof around, write blitters.

particularly in option trading, while mine is OTM,that is my main trading activity, since option trade is very short term,OTM is the shortest short lived so timing is very critical to me. right time to enter and right time to exit is very critical to make the maximum.

if I were doing long-term investment, like weeks/months. buy stocks/etfs, I just relax, even do not look at them for days. the longer the better to me, since I do not want the little intra-day noises to influence my overall long-term judgement. in investmest, patience is the key toward success. but in trading, it is opposite. must be decisive, highly focus. finish it as soon as possible. that is why in arts of war by shunzhi: speed decides the success of a war.

unfortunately I am not rich enough to become an investor, I need trading to produce cash flow to survive and grow. I am working toward the rich club target. recently I opened a new account with td ameritrade, my main focus there is investment, buy and hold stocks/etfs/mutal funds, plus some banking activity.

trading is like a wave surfer. it is a sport game. TA is a good tool. just like before x-ray, doctors are hard to find tumor/cancer. after x-ray, it is easier.

if you pull out of a chart, you can easily see whether a market trends or not. put an ema on that, it becomes more clear. if you draw some trendlines, even better.

thanks to computer technology advancements, so we have TA. TA helps us present raw data with different ways, so we can see better and understand the market better. TA helps. if you do not have TA, no chart, no ema, no indicators, traders still trade well. like in the curb trading time.

that is what TA does, present raw data with different ways. but market clues, something which can not be visulaized or language derscribable, TA is no help, while those are the most critical. TA can not point out major market participants are leaving or joining, can not point out who are manipulating, depress the market first (buy in and shake out), then go up without you.

often when TA says it is 100% buy, that means it is a sell, everything is obvious, the pumping is over, dumping is there.
if you use a little brain, logically market must take profit at some point.

I monitor anaylst downgrade/upgrade, this week someone downgraded FB, it is a good opportunity to me, I bought 27.5 /28 calls, also next week. in this case, TA says it is going down, but I say to myself, I buy as mush as my account allowed. holy shit, all my FB calls doubled tripled and more, I think today FB will shoot more.

what I learned most useful is: what major players in a particular market are thinking. use charts, sneef around other clues to figure out what they are doing, then copy cat them.

I just registered and followed this discussion. This is more of a fight between kids than a serious discussion about TA. There is nothing objective about TA. If you say so you are lying to people possibly on purpose and you should be ashamed of yourself hurricanousUS.

Give the same chart to 3 people and one will see a triangle, another will see a double bottom and another will see an alien spacecraft. TA charts are like those psychiatric tests they have idiots take.

It is mind boggling that there are still people around praising TA.

  4. Yeah, it is very odd the way the TA brigade hangs onto things that simply do not work. They have changed their nomenclature to phrases like "price action" rather than chart patterns etc.

They all claim success with it, but there is no evidence and the clever ones sell guidance in trading rooms with 100's of members hanging on their every word. strange days!
