Did you even read the OP's question? It's about why gasoline demand is falling considerably in U.S. See link in initial post. This is independent of current events and trend started way before price decline of crude. If anything current price decline of crude will act to increase U.S. gas consumption.

yeah! I hate it when people go off topic and just start rambling on. What we need is more order. Who knows where a man would end up if just left to his own devices. Or a civilization for that matter. And I think that is why a lot of people are not driving as much as they use to, except for the fact there are a lot more cars on the road than there use to be.

  4. Birth rates all time low
    Marriages all time low
Average age of the population all time high
Young people's interest in cars all time low. They are mostly interested in electronic gadgets

So gasoline consumption in the US lowest in 22 years. Trend will continue

Whereas in Asia and in other developing countries, oil consumption is breaking records every year. The younger you are, the more you consume. Simple as that. Especially now that Asians have the money.

  6. I'm older than the boomers... believe me, a person can get very tired of car/driving and move to a pedestrian-friendly place for a few years and not miss having a car.
