I'm not confusing anything. I'm not making any calls at this point, because - as I said - it's two years away. You, however, are on record.
Sorry for insulting you. As far as I can tell, we're way past the point of no return and everyone is walking around business as usual. If we're splitting hairs, there's lots of inconsistencies in the right and left. Clinton/Obama liberals and Bush/Romney conservatives aren't actually Liberal or Conservative. They're Fabian socialists and Troskeyite fascists. The new brand of Libertarianism (Cruz and Paul), are actually classical Liberals. That's what Liberals used to be, in the original sense of the term (freedom lovers). Rand and Cruz are Libertarian 'light'. Mainly, and most importantly, it's their ALLIGIENCE TO THE CONSTITUTION that should impress you the most. Not whether or not they check off every box that defines them as a "true" Libertarian. On the border, Rand and Cruz want border security. Everybody wants that. What's wrong with that!??!? Who cares if it doesn't fit the bill of a classic Libertarian...Rand Paul doesn't sell himself as a classic Libertarian.....he's a Constitutionalist first! Which is congruent with what this Country is and needs! So I think he's pretty damn good. What's the alternative? The Libertarian Open Border policy of the Fabian socialist Left or the neo-con fascist right?!! How does that make any sense? Rand and Cruz advocate for a slow phase out of most of these welfare programs. They're 10th Amendment guys who would surrender much of the power and responsibility of these massive social welfare programs back to the States, the way it was supposed to be. I'm fine with that too. Listen, at the end of the day, we're in serious serious financial trouble. While everyone likes the idea of "helping" everyone, social security, medicare, Medicaid, obamacare etc, these are all paper promises which in a few short years, won't be worth the paper theyre printed on. Nobody will get these benefits. It's done. All we're doing is building castles in the sky, fooling ourselves with this mass delusion that if we vote for a politician that reassures us these programs will be there 5, 10, 20 years down the road, they will be!! There's a total disconnect here, man. It ain't happening. We've got 4-5 years, maximum. Then everything goes to shit. So we either wind everything down, gut regulation and taxes (which would bring jobs back despite free trade), and brace for whatevers coming. OR, take the blue pill, vote for Pelosi or Jeb or Hillary or some other fucktwat and pretend everything is just fine and watch the whole thing explode in our fucking faces in a very short time. .
That sums up American politics in the last 100 years. Americans have gone from Libertarians (primacy of individual rights) to Fascist (primacy of the collective will), so long as it's their brand of fascism imposed on others (which, ironically, they don't view as fascist....it's just 'right'). Anyway, we're so fucked. Goodnight.
Not to mention that woman carries far more qualifications than Carson and Paul and Christie combined. I would expect a shoe-in, the same as with Obama over Romney.
achilles28, Just to be clear, the only two candidates I have any time for are Cruz and Paul. Maybe Perry. The rest, we're back to voting for lesser of two evils.
Thank you. I acknowledge I go off half-cocked about this stuff. Coming from my perspective - I'm winterizing the family cottage and shopping farmland 8 hours north of Toronto for a SHTF scenario. We're in deep, and only a handful of people have a clue, or care. Check out the new Rickards book? I'm a younger guy. I want a future for my family and unborn kids. People have no understanding or connect dots. If and when we get some kind of dollar collapse, the political fallout from that based on the trend since 911 and the laws they've now got on the books.... honestly. I'm very frightened.
This is good to hear. There was a time, not too long ago, where I'm almost sure I remember reading you thinking Paul was a bad choice.
Paul is not my first choice. I'm not sure where he stands on immigration. That worries me. A lot. I like his foreign policy. It will be interesting to see how primary voters react to the inevitable attacks on him from the McCain/neo con wing. One would think they are totally discredited afte the serial disasters in iraq, Afghanistan. Libya, Syria, Iraq again, etc but they are like liberals on social policy. The answer is always to double down on a losing strategy.
I suspect the parasite class will vote "who THEY are", regardless of candidate. Though Odumbocare and the Odumbo administration have been putrid by any measure... and if the parasites vote Democrat "anyway"... all of us patriots might as well pack up and leave. The mid-terms will say a lot.
