Reagan said that government is not the solution, it's the problem.. part right on that, he was, I like GW's definition better because Reagan's deregulation is what led to lots of problems... Otoh, the current admin thinks that government is the answer so we are back to square one and likely to be stagnating for quite awhile...
Who in this forum has never had a family member help them at one time or another. And who here has never helped a family member if they asked for help. Does it matter if your relative is the president and he helps you sell your products to business associates? What if your Dad is a ditchdigger and gets you a job carrying shovels? Is that wrong too? I mean, its like its a sin to help your family get ahead in this country.

But the Republicans in office always seem to vote to limit the freedom of the American people. Case in point below. It was Barney Frank (D-MA) at the WSOP day 1-c telling the American people I will try to get back some of your freedom (which was taken away of course by the Republication Party) by trying to repeal the UIGEA.
Everywhere you look with the the Bush family and friends you see self dealing son of a bitches and no bid contracts. They really do seem to have executed on their plan to rape america. Letting the SPR get filled and causing Oil prices to rise was just about their most expensive trick. done for they saudi buddies. (I wonder how much bush senior got paid for that move.) David Souter and Harriet miers were others. Letting Enron screw CA was another. Now setting up an almost scam to screw the us out of education dollars is another. No bid haliburton contracts. Who knows how many deals they have directed carlyle groups way. No wonder soros hates them. I wonder if it has something to do with Prescott Bush alleged nazi support.
That's funny. You clearly have very little clue. The only reason that Enron was able to "game" the power grid in California was precisely BECAUSE government allowed them to do so via the "Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000". This legislation also allowed West Texas Intermediate to trade overseas, electronically ( with no position limits ) in Dubai and London ( via ICE ) without any CFTC oversight. Moreover, Bush rarely ( if ever ) used his VETO pen to squash all of the spending done by Congress over his eight years . . . hence the doubling of the National debt. His quote is certainly ideal, but in reality there was not a fair and equal playing field (environment) for businesses when it came to taking on risk during the Bush years. Much of the deregulation and laissez-faire environment that was fostered by Bush and his Administration has lead us to where we are today. To ignore the above and proclaim Bush as "pure awesome" is incredibly naive.
