Tell us what you really think, my mon Gundry is a world re-known heart surgeon and has done the research w/numbers to substantiate his position. In addition, having sliced on many, many fat slobs hitting his operating slab, he does have an interesting perspective. He also went from being one of those fat slobs to fit and trim via the stuff he lists in his book. People often don't change their views or habits until they're reminded of their mortality. Maybe you'll have that chance one day. In the meantime, keep stuffing your face with whatever greasy, slathered up goodies you can find. Just make sure you're within a few minutes of a good Emergency Room. Diet is literally killing off Americans. You think -this- thread gets a little heated? Well, you ain't seen nuthin' yet.
Really what international figure has he saved from heart disease with his vegan BS? He should stick to surgery.
Its pretty clear your not going to read much about any of this material before just spouting off. So, I guess reading the Gundry book would be too much to ask, but reading the summary above was too much too? The guy is a renowned surgeon who has invented procedures. Like any ethical doctor, he disguises the identity of his patients and doesn't name drop. Why should he stick just to surgery when less risky and invasive treatments, like nutrition can give better results? Further his diet is not vegan or even vegetarian. Its low carb. LOL
Low-Carbohydrate, High-Protein Diets May Reduce Both Tumor Growth Rates and Cancer Risk ScienceDaily (June 14, 2011) â Eating a low-carbohydrate, high-protein diet may reduce the risk of cancer and slow the growth of tumors already present, according to a study published in Cancer Research, a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/06/110614115037.htm What say vegans?
american people say: bullshit. lets eat more donuts and pasta nad hamburgers and fries. lets drink coke , pepsi and red bull. later, lets help our beloved pharma with our dollars spent on chemo and radiotherapy. financed on credit thanks to our federal fed. reserve. in the mean time lets bomb iraq and their children, they gotta have democracy and more american food!
Gundry diet is much lower carb than typical Western/U.S. diet. In fact, he goes out of his way to stress -not- bloating up on all of the carbs we like, such as potatoes and super sweet fruit stuff. Not clear from write up how much of the mouse improvements are from added protein vs. lower carbs. Best diet so far is shaping up to be a slow carb, somewhat lower carb type diet, with a smaller amount of protein(either from healthy meat like seafood or veggie sources). BUT, with a lot of nutritional value. Or, as Gundry and Fuhrman like to put it, a nutritionally dense, calorie light diet. You might try reading some of this literature. Could be you'd learn something, such as this stuff is not just one more 'eat your veggies' rehash. You're too hung up on 'Vegan', without understanding that just cuz sumpin's a veggie doesn't mean it's good for you to eat. Just as there's a huge diff between eating wild caught salmon vs. a slab o' bacon sizzling on your stove, there's a huge diff between what kinds of veggies one eats. That's just for starters...try the cooked vs. raw angle and it gets really interesting.
I went with a pure raw veggie diet once... the best thing I can say about it was that I could just stand over a trash can and eat, no reason to have a kitchen much or set a table... but wow, after awhile the idea of a good steak and potato dinner just seemed SO INCREDIBLE!!
The Vegan argument is that animal products are inherently harmful because they come from an animal, and that a vegetable only diet is the only way to attain good health and longevity. Clearly this study throws water on their philosophic nonsense. That's what veganism is a "moral" idealism with no basis in scientific fact. They must supplement their inadequate diet with pills and fortified foods. What does that say for their healthy food choice?
