The only problem with that is the human body has a difficult time digesting any more than 45-55 grams/protein per meal. I weigh 225 and eat 1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight during mass building. That's 338 grams/day. I have to split that up in a day meaning 8 meals = consuming about 43 grams protein per meal. During cutting phase (dieting), I eat 2 grams protein/meal. That's 450 grams protein/day. At 56 grams protein/meal, I'm pushing the envelope on being able to digest it all. Trust me, if I could use 200-300 grams/protein in a meal, I would do it. Just doesn't work though. Help me out here Atticus on the explanation.
Leapup, depending on water temp, time of year and a few other random factors there are great whites off La Jolla cove. They can run the whole coast all the way up to Washington. I've seen them from the tuna tower of my bro's boat. Don't do that swim anymore.
I was afraid of that!!!! I live on the east coast, and have to watch very closely for tiger and bull sharks when my Sons swim in the Atlantic. I'll swim to a sandbar, and my heart starts to pound as I know that's where baitfish hang out. After I get out of the water, I usually hang out close to the water line watching the kids. Never had a great white shark worry though. As for the La Jolla cove, I'm out! I won't be doing that again! I liked the "high" I had when I came back ashore, but while I was out there, I bet I took a year off my life wondering when a shark the size of a vw beetle hood with teeth was going to hit me at 30mph. Kinda pisses me off having that fear, as I'd LOVE to surf the Santa Cruz area.
This thread has been good reading, learning. Thanks Mom is almost 92, i let her take my copy of China Study, she returned it and said it was very good read..........."see! she said, i always had GREEN for you kids everyday you were at home, now you know why". She is still as sharp as a tack, walks in a slow run, no walker no cane. her only medicine is lipitor, never was on anything else. Eat well.......... PS: Wheat is a weed, the worlds food.
i'm around 185-190 lbs and eat 125g of protein a day. but i'm in permanent maintenance mode (not trying to gain any more muscle). i think BBers eat too much protein. even when i was bulking, i was only eating 150-175g of protein daily and it was enough. it's hard to get that much protein without protein supplements like whey powder, which gives me gas that'd rival anything in the military's stockpile. lean sources like chicken breasts are so dry and boring, and beef has too much saturated fat.
Outstanding!!!!! Glad to hear about your Mom! And yes, the bright colored vegies are and always be good stuff for the bod and mind. I CANNOT wait until the tomatos, red peppers, yellow peppers, green peppers, green beans, cucumbers, and spinach I am growing on our back deck start producing! Yum! + makes me feel good when I eat them too! Now my Wife has almost shot me over the 35+ PCV growing bags along the inside of the deck as it's a little dirty when I water them, and track in (so she says ) potting soil. I guess I will either eat healthy, or get shot trying?
Nitrogen metabolism. Maintaining a (IC) +nitrogen balance for repair and growth. Resistance training causes the greatest loss of N among all aerobic and anaerobic exercise. Dr. Lemon's research suggested nearly 2g/Kg of protein for the weightlifter. I am 6'2" and 225lbs. I would require 200g per day to maintain a +N balance while training daily. Some major studies (one large US Army study) suggested 3g/Kg was optimal.
