Thanks for making that clear. You can choose to ignore the last 50 years or so of nutritional research if you like. Should we understand that what you have written in this thread are your beliefs and not necessarily facts based on sound research?

You mentioned CR and erroneously stated that a CR diet is a low carb diet. I just pointed that out, and referenced Mr Walford who founded the CR Society. I don't think you can find a better reference than that.

as a vegetarian it is in fact much harder to build muscle.

beef or fish contains 20-25% protein.
nuts and seeds : the same.

how much beef or fish can you eat in one serving? 200 gram for sure, some eat 300 gram.

try to eat more than 50 grams of nuts or seeds! very hard.

HOWEVER, if you don't want to consume meat, you can supply the same amount of protein (50 grams) eating 8 eggs.

  7. I think a lot of people, particularly those engaged in bodybuilding, overemphasize the the need for protein and more protein. Sure the body requires sufficient protein, but the crap you read in muscle magazines (and their ads) can be detrimental to your health. When I was younger, I bought into the BS and now cringe at the amount of protein I had consumed under the belief that if enough is good, then a lot more is much better. The typical American diet, such as it is, is certainly not lacking in protein.

I was thinking the same thing. RB is sooo angry!

So my plant-based diet means my dick's too small, I'm glycating to death, I'm diabetic and don't know it, and I probably have early stage, uh, er, ummm, I forgot what that disease is called...but I'm happy! I feel good! I might drop dead any minute, but I'll die happy!

I'd like to thank everyone who read "The China Study" and "Reverse and Prevent Heart Disease" rather than simply surfing the web for stuff other people wrote about those books. It's a sure sign that you can still think for yourself and the world could use a few less sheep, or we'll all be led to slaughter.

Good eating and good health to everyone!

Certainly not me! I can't imagine running myself into a catabolic state. He's done some 100 mile runs before. Insane! I told him he was nuts, and he told me I was nuts for eating 8 small meals/day that include egg whites, low fat cottage cheese, fish, skinless chicken, buffalo and venison, etc., Militant vegans... Sigh.

I did swim two miles with him in the La Jolla cove (near San Diego), and will NEVER do that again! EVER! I kept thinking to myself when I saw the seals on the rocks, "hmmm! Don't great white sharks hang out here, and eat seals?" Scared me shitty!

I remember being so far out that I almost went into a panic when I turned to look at how far we had swam, and how far I had to swim back to get out of "Jaws" territory.

When we got back to shore, I did have that "high/exhilarating/cheated death" feeling. But do it again to feel like that again? Nope! Don't think so! Lol

He often does 3 miles in the cove at 5:00 am Pacific time before going back home to get ready for work. I have told him that sharks eat in the morning and night (and whenever they want!), but he always brushes off my warnings.
