  1. Let me help you out here. Most of the drilling in Alaska is done on State-owned land that is leased to the oil companies.

The Federal government does own some land in Alaska...but up to now have not permitted drilling. Anwar for example. You want a cut, you need to vote for drilling in anwar...does Obama support that? LOL.

I frankly couldn't careless whether they drill anwar or not. Again my problem here is that according to this article Alaska used earmarked federal tax dollars to pay for infrastructure that helped them get money off the state owned land. But again my issue here is that even though the land is state owned, federal earmarks were used to build the infrastructure there ie some of my tax dollars. So if my return on my tax dollars is the 35% tax that XOM is paying to the US government as pabst pointed out then why isn't Alaskas return the same? Why is somebody who does not pay taxes getting a government check? Why wasnt' that windfall used to pay down government debt or kept in Alaska's government treasury so they can pay for future spending needs rather than redistributing the money and then coming to washington for another handout in the future?

I have no love for Obama, I just find it odd to hear socialism coming from the lips of Alaska's governor.

Yes I am aware of that. There is no such thing as "the perfect candidate" and I share some differences with Ron but overall looking at the dismal choices he is the best of the bunch.

  4. Palin is a good American. She represents hard working values. Liberals, on the other hand, represent welfare and handouts. Obviously she conflicts with their marxist ideology, which is why they hate her.

  5. OK, I get it now.

Frankly, the Federal government has been handing out these earmarks in all 50 states, not just Alaska, with no accountability as near as I can tell. The odds of that practice ending under Obama are nill in my opinion.
