Why dont we have a modern highspeed rail system?

    Actually,we do, not that i agree with all his religion or politics.

    But mayor Bloomberg does ride the high speed NY subway.:D

  2. We don't need it. Would take 25 years to build. By that time we wll have other technology.

    I know it's hard for liberals to think ahead but give it a try.

  3. Cheap gas and auto lobbies have prevented rail from emerging from the ashes. Instead of huge national system, I agree with the idea of adding selected corridors. Travelling by rail is more comfortable than a cattle car like airplane. Some planners think the suburbs will go the way of the dinosaur if gas can no longer remain cheap. Cities are a more efficient model.

    American imperialism is necessary to continue the lifestyle that American imperialism has given us. Obama is not doing anything different in that regard than his predecessors.
