  1. Canyonman00 what there saying there saying they cant make a point if its non cyclical or if its human causing the warming. But there is empirical evidence the earth is warming. But the question is if it is cyclical. meaning if we are entering a warming stage of earth. Or if its man made. You cant dispute the evidence that we are entering a warmer climate.

  2. My point makes the question, if it's not man made how can he hope to stop it? You and they give us way too much credit.

Also, who's to say that this warming trend is not a needed cycle in the life of the planet? :)

Unless the republicans have taken over mars, global warming is beyond man's control.

    Global Warming on Mars?

Please see the southpark episode where Gore is hunting man-bear-pig.

  5. Im not saying stopping it. Im saying preparing for the consequences of a warming earth canyonman. If we know the earth is warming, whether its man or nature made, then you still have to deal with the consequences. Like more powerful hurricanes, prolong droughts, hotter summers, and weather out of control. What is the government doing to prepare the population for consequences. They still promote people to live in gulf states. they still subidize insurance for gulf state homer owners. They havent prepared agriculture industry for multidecade long droughts. Or prepare the population to deal with heat waves that begins in spring and ends in october. Frightening stuff but california and states all along the usa are going throught month 1 their longest heatwave in recorded history. And what is the guy doing preparing for the wars that would result from these prolong droughts. Look at middleeast. How would this effect the entire region. There are global implications.

funny you should ask. I just noticed tens of millions of people in coastal towns propping their homes up onto stilts.

job should be done in a week or two.

"what is the government doing" ... never fear, the government can and will solve everything. just sit back and wait for them.

  8. At no place in the constitution is there a mandate where the government is charged with the duty to prevent you from making dumb decisions. I personally know folks who re-built their home on the side of a mountain in California almost exactly where the last one slid from. You can't make folks not do stupid things.

And I feel the government shouldn't be forced to cover dumb things. New Orleans is in a hole for God sake. It will flood again. But man and his ability to deal with nature intends to stand defiantly. Soothed in the knowledge that some American somewhere has enough tax dollars to help them through the impending pain.

It's your own responsibility to evaluate the consequences of your decisions. The government help (even further) the AG industry even more? Please! Not with my tax dollars.

Heatwave in Calif? God forbid you have to do without air conditioning. How did mankind ever survive before it was invented? I am sure it never was ever that hot for an extended timeframe before. Hell, get a fan and stop voting against new power plants out there! You're on the ocean. Help develop the wave motion generator that provides power for the region. Study Tesla concept's and convert. Get off your collective assets and get in the game.

I don't think the Middle East is a major concern for me as long as folks like you are around. I really hope the government sends you a survival manual soon. Sounds like you'll need it. I'm willing to bet the rest of us will find a way to survive the coming drama. :)

The problem is that we have too many scientists who are desperately trying to find anything that supports the hypothesis that global warming exists as a means to get ahead in their field, which is consumed by too much prejudice from the “Religious Left.”

There is absolutely no consensus on how the Earth deals with rising CO2 levels. They don’t know what will happen. All you get from scientists are prejudicial assumptions based on inconclusive data. Their assumptions are always the same: Armageddon. What do you expect from a bunch of socialist Bush haters filled with self-loathing guilt about how the West has ravaged the Earth? It’s all political posturing from scientists and journalists-turned-pseudo-scientists. Sorry, that does not count as a hard-science consensus.

We need a hard-science consensus to find out how the Earth deals with rising CO2 levels in a quantitative way. We need to know this if we can do anything about it. How do we know that stopping all burning of fossil fuels will do anything? It might be too late. How do we know that if we actively remove CO2 from the atmosphere we won’t find ourselves in a runaway ice age? How do we know that if the CO2 levels go up some more, something on Earth will kick in and remove the CO2 levels, leading to a new equilibrium? They simply don’t know.

  10. Okay, they don't know.

    They have theories.

Which side do we want to err on?

The side of caution? Or the side of waiting until it may be too late?

p.s. Not all scientists are using global warming as a political tool of the left...some actually believe in global warming on the basis of their science.

You might be surprised how many people are actually (especially scientists) capable of putting their own personal partisanship aside to do their jobs...
