Why dont Americans come to Europe to trade

Discussion in 'Prop Firms' started by Bear Trader, Sep 4, 2011.

  1. While theoretically this makes a compelling arguement, you forget most 'day traders' in the US of A are just problem gamblers living in trailer parks.
It's the thought that counts, I guess.

You must have reached this conclusion after reviewing ET posts from our resident bomb throwers and market prognosticators in the 'trading' and 'career trader' forums.

I wonder if high taxes and lousy weather have anything to do with it.

in my experience it's been the red tape of visa's and things. I run a large and profitable book trading Euribor/Short Sterling/Eurex products and would love to take my team to London but the logistics of it seem to be a nightmare. Instead we as US traders are forced to drop money building out our colocation infrastructure in Basildon to shave off micro/miliseconds.

to the OP; please PM me if you have any insights in moving prop trading from US to London.

My best galpal grew up in Montreal... she is so sweet, actually good for a man!! I want a bounty to go on these American women [think I'm kidding?] I'd hunt them to extinction now that I can see the difference...

I want good culture [European] and good hours.. British women are said to be the same as Americans, France is what, two hours diff from London, Andorra is one hour diff...
