Why dont Americans come to Europe to trade

Discussion in 'Prop Firms' started by Bear Trader, Sep 4, 2011.

  1. There isn't a single piece of hard information in this thread.

Someone start giving examples of securities, fees, spreads, etc...
Or mods please move thread to the Travel Section...
Or maybe the ET Hobo Discussion Forum.

  3. To the toppic, "why should they" ???
You can trade every market, from where ever you want on this planet.

I for myself live on the canary island in spain, and its pretty cheap there, but lifestyle is high (expect the hight immigrants rate from africa), its cheaper than Mallorca & Ibiza.

Of course you can move, life and work everywhere in Europe if you have a visa, but to get one, do you need a lot of money or a job, its like any other country with the visa.

I trade US + European + Asian Stocks, makes no difference for me. The different times are ok, too, because i am mainly a 24h working Forex trader. so no problem. I trade the stocks with BNP Paribas and i am happy with that. Fees + spreads are depending on the broker, dont you think.

Only difference is taxes, if you want to pay the lowest taxes, go in the carribean, Bahamas would be good - but its so hot there.

  4. That is such a crap. Europe is going down, bigtime, hot women? They look like bloody cleaning wifes.

If you want to be in a high taxed, people unfriendly, laws for everything, socialistic, full of muslims, high crime of a country then go to Europe.

You better stay in the USA.

Most of Europe is crowded and yes people do not kiss the immigrant's ass much, and no the Muslims will not have the same status as Mexican's in CA. There are pockets of places that are equal to California, such as Portugal, just cheaper...
Still, I am staying in the US until it "sinks".... which may come soon.... :(

  6. In Europe right now I'm (legally) paying very little tax, can't remember the last time I saw a fight, a muslim, or a fat chick on the streets, and I am still wearing t-shirts at midnight in this weather. 'Influencing' a judge costs between 2 and 20k (unless you did something serious like murder someone).

I'll be in Chicago later this year, and will be sure to make a like for like comparison :D

  9. If the euro ever comes to parity with the US dollar I would love to come back to europe for 4-6 months. Last year I spent 3 months in Barcelona Spain, rented a chic apt near the beach for $3500/mo(US), traded both euro and US session, it was sweet. BUT..... hated losing $$ when converting usd to euro :(

    * Next stop, Florence Italy...I hope

  10. Judging from a few of the comments made here, it seems like some people believe Europe is a country and not a continent?

With 50 countries to choose from these generalizations obviously are way off target.

Care to share more about life in Barcelona?

Living in Norway, I`m currently in the process of relocating and Barcelona is one of the locations on my list.

Or should I come to South Beach? :)
