1. In spirit they can continue to be a leadership factor and the inspiration for their followers...martyrdom can go a long way to inspire followers in a cause. It can last for generations as the mythology of a martyr leader grows stronger. The point is that their leaders are not suicidal, only their minions are. 2. So a leader directed his son, so what? He is not sacrificing his own life, he is not suicidal. He wants to live. He advoctates that others engage in suicide attacks, but not himself. If it is such a great thing to do, a suicide attack, then he should be doing it himself. If he had engaged in a suicide attack, lead his troops into battle, his followers would become even stronger. As it is, they know the leadership is just like any other false leadership...unwilling to follow their own preaching.

Is he a martyr? No, he isn't. He isn't suicidal either. Israel could take him out, but they know better to make him a martyr. He could easily take up a bomb and go blow himself up in the name of the cause, but he wants to live... So some of the leaders are killed in a war, so? That's what happens. Not the same as a suicide bomber. A cease fire is just a pause in the action, which will continue after a break. Nothing is going to change, until one of the side changes their mentality. Hamas fires rockets because that is about all they can do. What did David take up against Goliath?
