Why do trend-followers do well during high volatility? Don't they get whipsawed?

  1. Hi, algofy. I don't have a site. I'm simply someone who has been trading for well over a decade now, and so have plenty of experience. Not sure what details you'd like me to PM, I'm afraid. This is my first post to this forum, so I'm a complete newbie to the site. I just came across it this morning.

Help MePlease; HE HELPED you+ NUTnBut Noise has a good read/trend .

Put it simple; put a 200 day Simple moving average,[200 dma] on a SPY chart; study that all data, bull + bear markets . Wisdom is profitable to direct; study that for year$, study all data, daily data/candles or barcharts ,much more than what anybody says on trend folloWing.

Just because you could find something that trends better than SPY/200dma; does not mean you should try- until you know what you are doing. Seldom get whipsawed, with a 200 dma. [ whipsaw, aka barbed wire range ,as an elite trader wisely named it]
Ed Seykota had one of the best lines; ''to aVOID WHIPSaWs =stop trading LOL.'':caution::D:cool: Delayed turtle type edit
